Boner with a gush !!!!

WE need a GREAT DB coach for sure. Goldson GO! Get Mays & Smith in the line up now. get the #1 draft pick CB in the line up also.

Manginni was a great DB coach with the Pats

I have a feeling Taylor Mays project as a starter is over.

Harbaugh loves Taylor Mays. Voted for him for MVP of Pac 10

Taylor Mays hasn't made smart on-field decisions. In fact, a lot of his decisions have been horrible decisions and worst of all, late reactions.

Gee golly that's swell and all but this is the NFL. Mays will earn his role.

I think with a first time nfl head coach, GM and President we need as many ex coaches for Jim to lean on.

A rookie making horrible decisions? Damn!

We never bottomed out how much of our individual performance problems were down to not being able to bring on talent. Mays is a talented young man. I very much doubt if the new coaching team gives up on him.

yeah a rookie safety has never made bad decisions or mistakes in coverage ever. dude was a rookie he will improve over time. People are so quick to call players bust or done for. Just because he isn't a probowler day one doesn't mean he can't be successful. I personally think he will be the starter next season.

I just saw on the ESPN NFL home page that Harbaugh was calling potential coordinators just before agreeing to take the job. No word on who he contacted.

So I guess it's all but certain that Shaw won't be coming with him.

Would make sense since Luck stayed.

Like him but he is a DC right now, can make a lateral move unless his contract is up

Was he not let go with Mangini?

no
I'd be cool with Callahan. Though I think if our offense takes off, he won't stick around long. Also, does he run the West Coast?

I think so too. If only for the first year. But some coaches on Harbaugh's Stanford team like Fangio are very experienced too. Break down some tapes of the current NFl teams and they will know what to do in no time.
Vic Fangio would be a perfect fit.

Quote:
NFL-ready coaching staff: "His staff and so many of his hires over past few years are very much NFL guys. He hired Vic Fangio, who did brilliant things on defense -- 8.8 points per game against (over their past five games). And then he ran a 3-4 defense in Baltimore with the Ravens. Very aggressive, very blitz-friendly. The 49ers have the personnel in their front seven to run that."

Very aggressive, very blitz friendly 3-4
