I think 900+ is attainable. He should have double digit touchdowns for sure though.

this brings up a good point...
if vernon cant reach 1000 this year, do you think gore does?
outside of the seattle game, vernon is averaging more per game(not including the games gore was out of)...
2/3rd's of gores yards this season came in one game..
Or more importantly on 2 different run plays!!!

Frankly I don't see him getting the yds now that Crabtree is here ------ just keep getting the scores.

That's very unlikely but I think it's possible he could reach 850, 900 or even 950. 1,000 would be a real tall order even at this point. 900 yards and 10 - 12 TD's would be an absolutely huge year for him and it's real reachable at this point.
And it would make Krizay go away...
Or it might make you guys realize you were just making excuses after all.
"It's not about numbers" Different song now huh?
"Look at the QB's he's had" Aren't they the same?
"New OC every year" This year is no different!
Oh just be happy VD is a beast. Admit it Krizay YOU WERE WRONG...
VD is going to revolutionize the TE position. Pretty soon all TE's will be compared to his standard.

355 yards through 6 games=59.1 yards per game over a 16 game season he's pacing for 946 yards. This is playing with Hill 5 and 1/2 half of the 6 games, I think with Smith we will be throwing the ball more and Smith obviously likes Davis. I'm calling not only 1000 but 1100

it sure would be nice! that's what jimmy raye supposedly does to TEs -- gives them the ball, yards, and TDs

Crabtree is our WR now though, so that could take away from Davis' stats. I'm happy if Vernon Davis finishes with 850 yards and 10 TDs. After all, he's a TE.

actually i'm thinking things will open more for Davis now. Crabtree can start pulling those double teams away from Davis. Also crabtree can help sustain drives, giving them more opportunities to go to Davis.
you need to avg 62.5 ypg to get 1000 on the season. right now davis is averaging 59. if he gets a couple huge 100+ games he can do it.
depends on a few things, play calling, pass protection (will we be forced to keep him in?), crabtree (will he take away catches, or take away double teams?).

didn't Crabtree play yesterday? didn't the cards just have 3 players go over 1000 yards receiving last year? he can do it with Crabtree on the team.

Of course he can, but just because he had 90+ yards yesterday, doesn't mean I'm going to expect that every single game from here on out. People get carried away on this site. After Week 1, people were saying how Gore should be traded. Then he goes wild in Week 2, people start talking about how he's the best back in the league. Now, Gore should be traded again.
