I wish the 49ers would use Vernon Davis the way the Broncos use Tony Scheffler. Most of the time, the defense didn't even know where he was. However, you always know where Vernon is. They used Scheffler on the sidelines, running ins and outs. Matching him up on LBs, corners and safeties.

yeah, I would love to see Vernon at Wideout.
like I said earlier today.... imagine if we line up with the 1WR (Crabtree) 2TE, 2rb formation.....
then shift to have Vernon move out to wide out...... we could run it from there or pass it with some players still in to help block....
I don't know...but I remember in the offseason, Vernon for some reason felt he was the focal point of the offense...someone lied to him
no disrespect to Gore but...
I would rather have Vernon the focal point more so than Gore...

maybe opponents game plan against Brandon Marshall and Ed Royal leaving Scheffler free to run wild...
where since our WRs don't scare anyone, teams playing against us may focus their attention on Vernon...
just my 2 cents...

but...but...but...2 TE formations FTW!!!
We need him to block on those 8 men in the box D looks, and for him to run a vertical route and catch a TD between 2 defenders.
Besides a creative and dynamic is overrated.
Physicality, Adversity, Toughness, Greatness.

11.9 avg per reception, 5th in TDs with 3, 22 receptions 242 yards.
Pretty solid.

the difference is they have 2 TE's that can block. they can keep Graham in to block and send out Scheffler. Delanie's on and off as a blocker and they need to keep a TE in to help the O-line because they've been sucking so bad.

Exactly, Denver probably has the best o-line in the league (which is why Orton is looking like a pro-bowl QB). Since their o-line is good, they have the flexibility to spread things out a bit.

I wish we had Denvers O-line. Their LT Clady shut down Merriman the whole game. Most of the time it was one on one too.
Our team with Denvers O-line = 6-0 too.

Problem is, it's very difficult for Shaun Hill to throw out patterns or anywhere near the sidelines. It would be a waste of VD running exotic routes.

Yep, I wonder how Alex Smith would look with that Denver O-Line? Man, Orton had all day to find a WR!

yup!! o-line is always the bottle neck for what plays you can/can't call. i think our o-line has allowed to to go probably 3 pages deep into our playbook.

Scheffler = better hands than VD and better route running. It's not even close.
