Josh Morgan looked really slow

Well, you can't just dink and dunk you way to another miserable season. On 3rd down, just throw the ball to the RB 10 yards short of the first down marker...that's how you lose football games.

I don't care if you're a running team, a passing team, a team that wins by kicking field goals, etc. You gotta be able to throw the ball deep every once in a while to keep the defense honest. That's part of the problem. Nobody respects Hill so they cheat. Plus, our WRs don't have much speed to begin with anyway. So basically, we're wasting half the field.

Throwing 10 and 20 yards is different than throwing 40. Pennington is a perfect example. He can get it done without the deep ball. There were too many passes that were Quick throws to the line of scrimmage or a yard deep and bombs. 2, 5 yard passes get you a first down. You can even mix a run in it to change it up. I know you can't make the same calls every series, but I am trying to say that There are a lot of options in between the line of scrimmage and 40 yards down the field.

I have re-watch the clip. From the top angle it looked like he slowed down, but he just made a lateral move to cut inside the defender's but it didn't work. Maybe he should use a good stiff arm next time or do what Rice do. Don't look back and just assumed there's a defender on your back and run like hell. Morgan look back one too many times and it seems to slow him down. Take a peek at the jumbo tron next time like Bruce

That's the whole thing. I'm not pleased with how we played as a team but I can't single out Josh Morgan. Did anyone look like their heads were in the game?

That's just frustration, which is the normal response to a game like this. I mean, would you say that Mike Singeltary was acting like a baby then? He was yelling and throwing tantrums all over the place yesterday. I know it gets ridiculous in here sometimes, but come on, 45-10 at home? We played like crap. I had more fun this weekend listening to the Blue Angels roaring above my house than watching this game.

Back to my original point, I understand frustration but fans need to learn to deal with it. Some people are already throwing in the towel because of this loss when just 2 days ago those same people are making playoff plans. I'm as big a fan as anyone on this site and the loss was extremely disappointing but I also realize it was only our 5th game and there are plenty more games left on the schedule.

I think everybody noticed it.

He slowed down at 10.

He was almost at a jog. He didn't finish the play. I like Morgan, but that's two touchdowns in two weeks he's let go. The so called "it came down like a punt" and now this one not running to the end of the play.

There are a couple of reasons why he slowed down: he turned his head back too many times and just basically ran out of gas.

If a WR runs out of gas on 60 yard play then he shouldn't be in the NFL.

I think he lacks confidence. But I think that partly because he mumbles so much when he talks. I don't know Maybe he's just not who we thought he would be. I think Hill has more of a fire under him and I rather he play more.

And I'll say it again...
The '94 team was blown out by the Eagles in week 5, and Steve Young played worse than Shaun Hill. I'm not saying we're that good (obviously we aren't), but being blown out once means nothing. How the team responds in the next 5 weeks means everything.

if the 9ers are going to go anywhere this season we need Morgan to step it up. I'm tired of potential I'm not expecting this kid to be Jerry Rice but show me some consistent effort.
