Its interesting how Parag was able to insert language in there that voids some of the escalators if Crabtree attempts a hold out during his contract period. The way I read the agreement notes, the Niners got what they wanted and put the screws to Crabtree's agent with these additional clauses. Crabtree can't escape the 6th year unless he does extremely well, but in that case we re-up all of our stud players anyway so Crabtree held out for what ?

You're right in that he gets a 32 million base and an 8 mil bonus based on performance.

However, his two-Pro Bowl thing allows him to void his final year making this a 5 year deal.

I don't think so. He seems like a nice, quiet guy. He mentioned in the press conference that he handled this whole situation by putting all his trust in Parker and letting him handle it. This tells me that Parker was mostly behind this, not Crabtree. Now that this is out of the way, I don't see him being a distraction. I'm excited to see this team play now. We have a lot of weapons and are going to be hard to defend, if our OL starts to show up.

i thought he was at least going to have some easy incentives and at least a minimal option bonus. I LOVE THIS DEAL FOR THE 9ERS personally I think the holdout was worth it for the team this guy has to play really well to get his $. If he doesn't or steps out of line and holds out again we're protected. I think Crabtree will find a way to make an impact by week 10 or 11 this year.
