I wonder who they cut to make room for him?

BTW do you think he will play this sunday?

Due to league rules he probably won't start until the Texans game after the bye!

which is perfect. b/c im going to that game!!!
About God damned time, now lets see if he was worth it.

Isn't it ironic the Jets just traded for Braylon Edwards AFTER Michael Crabtree signs with the 49ers?

true....
I seriously doubt he starts at all this year. Best case scenario he is our 3rd or 4th WR the last 4-6 games of the season.

Man, I'm so f**king happy. I don't know what I was more happy about this or finding out I didn't have Leukemia.
I guess I'll be in the minority here, and say I am NOT happy about this signing. Especially the timing of it. IF the NFL was going to actually do anything over the tampering accusations, our best bet to get someting done - and the best chance to maximize the penalty against the Jets (and compensation for us!) was when Crabtree wasn't signed and it looked like we were going to lose the pic altogether.

I was really hoping we wouldn't even consider signing him until after the NFL ruled. Now they will just look at it as "Oh well, so he missed out on a few months of a 5-year contract". Stupid move.

oh snap.
what week we in?
By the time we play the Colts (I know, don't get too far ahead,) I hope the Niners have:

- Gore back!
- Crabtree gelling into the offense in his 2nd? week playing
- Brandon Jones contributing as a deep threat in the passing attack
- VD continuing his great play (and benefiting from the play of the above 3)
- The O-line finally getting some cohesiveness

Combine that with the continued stellar play of the defense (hopefully they can confuse Peyton and counter his penchant for audibling with the "Magic" look) and I see the team with a breakout, statement game that will SERVE NOTICE TO THE REST OF THE LEAGUE (read: East coast media) THAT THE 49ERS HAVE FINALLY ARRIVED and are a FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH!
fiiiiiiiinally the ridiculous amount of excitement pulsating through my veins on draft day has some sort of meaning!
And this concludes the 2009 NFL draft.
