He's right, we cant run the ball like that all season, we have to have a balanced attack or were gonna see more 8 man fronts like we did yesterday...We need to open it up and attack

What's really interesting about all this:

Singletary managed to get a team that is very good at executing it's own game plan, in their own house, to completely sell out to the run an entire game without us having actually run the ball at all prior, and having no success running the ball during.

Sometimes it's not if you can do something, it's about making the other team respect that you can do it, even if you can't, or don't.

That is a very interesting thing.

I was thinking the same. But what I wonder about with the 49ers is can they exploit it? Will they have the balls to start passing more if they get teams to sell out, and crowd the line trying to stop #21? Or do they stubbornly beleive they can impose their will on any team, and eventually ram it down their throat. They are going to encounter other teams that will put up more points then the Cards did last Sunday. They will have to pass the ball in those games if the run is being shut down.

I agree. That's why I think Sando had the best analysis. He addresses that very point well. We did exactly that which you speak of.

Seattle is going to see exactly what you are speaking of when they watch the film. They will see us stubbornly attempting to impose our will. That's EXACTLY what we want them to see.

It's going to be interesting. I am very intrigued to see what the Seahawks defense does in this next game, and what the 49ers offense does to counter if they have to make adjustments.

Yeah, this will be an interesting game. I think we will have more success running the ball EXCEPT if Seattle sells out on the run as well. I would speculate, if I was Seattle watching film: "I can do what Arizona did, and I can get burned by the short pass a lot more than they did too." I would be thinking: "It may not be wise to assume they will not mix it up a lot sooner than they did against zona. They may have learned something about themselves from that game as well".

I expect Seattle to back off a little...not sell out completely on the run, play it a little safer than Zona did...they are on the road.

Timmy K was right though. this team doesnt play beautiful football, and some of the playcalling sucked. but they still did it when they had to, and there is a lot of things we can do to improve. there were lot of plays when snyder wasnt even blocking anyone. maybe pashos is an improvement. there were times when morgan was wide open and didnt see the ball, once hill settles down he should haven an easier time finding him. theres room for us to use some runs to the outside, playaction, screens, and stuff like that.
You may have your beef with Tim, this time I think he's more right than wrong. The guy that I don't like is Ray Ratto. That guy is the most negative SOB I have ever read in my life.

Bingo!

I'll go even further: I think Gore is past his prime. Remember what people in the 49ers said that he was a 26 year-old back in a 30 year-old body.

And we used him so much in this past 3 seasons that I just don't think we'll see him repeating his 2006 performances.

Unbingo.

I fail to see why you hate Tim Kawakami so much.

Oh wait, because he doesn't sugar-coat his articles. That's right. Everyone hates anyone who writes anything negative about this team. Who woulda guessed?

This article was on-point, like it or not. If you only want to hear good things about the team, find another journalist.

Kevin Lynch.. He's an idiot. But Tim Kawakami? He just says things you don't want to hear. Open your eyes and you'll realize a lot of what he says couldn't be more truthful.

Do you think Gore can return to 2006 form?
I like Tim he shoots straight and doesn't sugar coat it - I really liked this article and thought it was spot on.

The Bad - Shaun Hill was awful for most of the game happy feet in the pocket missing check down receivers - over throwing wide open guys etc - play calling was predictable and boring. The offense had no flow (and AZ DEF is NOT that good) - the lack of ball control sold out the DEF and left them on the field way to long - we can not do that all season or we will get rolled

I think we can grind out 9 wins this season and be respectable in the losses.

The Good which I think was Really good and can not be overstated - was the lack of mental mistakes aside from Shaun Hill and the O line - the guys were prepared well and were in game day form - something Mike Nowin could NEVER do - they showed up ready to play and that is a HUGE HUGE difference.

The Def knew their assignments and stuck to it - the Recievers routes were precise it was a really good site to see.
i didnt think the guy said anything that wasnt true. people hate on this guy but for the most part he tells it like it is

Maybe. But I don't believe for a minute that he's past his prime.

The guy has a combination of strength, speed and durability that can't be coached. He's a great runner. He'll roll for at least a grand this season (closer to 1200 or 1300 yards I think), and will have about 400 yards receiving.

Over the next few years, Coffee may step up and earn more carries...but make no mistake...Frank is the man. For now, Coffee needs about 5-10 touches a game. That must happen...but the only reason it must happen is to keep our best runner on the field.

That runner is Frank Gore...and likely will be for at least the next three or four seasons.

Trust me, you will find it far less interesting if we start losing games.

Trust me....last I checked, that has happened.

i dont see whats wrong with that articule. it didnt seem to make fun of the niners at all. sing WANTS the niners to be tough and stubborn. keep at it, smash it to them, ect. we did just that. and it worked. the meaning of the whole articule is.. the niners preched being physical, WERE physical, and they won. expect this game to look like their other games. i cant disagree. and i dont see whats so "hating" about this articule.
