hmmm... this going home thing can be rather interesting. he will be around people that care about him and it is quite possible that someone has a heart to heart with him on him on his birthday. could go either way. his family can either sit with him and tell him to sign the contract or they could tell him to hold out. he appears to listen to his family a lot and this trip back home could be big.

Well then if this is the case then someone should slap his mother and father in the face for raising such a spoiled/greedy punk.
Aaron Maybin is pretty dam active for the Bills tonight....

Good then the team can at least exchange my Michael Crabtree jersey

When exactly did that happen?

What did it say???

"Mike Silver quotes a 49ers source as saying that, with incentives, Crabtree's deal could be within $1 of No. 9 pick B.J. Raji's ."

Barrows Twitter

So... what is Crabtree's problem now?

He probably has a problem with INCENTIVES instead of getting real Garunteed money.

That is always a good sign when somebody has a problem with performance based money. Maybe crabs is smarter than I give him credit for.

Eh, I don't blame him here. It's not like we're going to be throwing the ball all that much or that he has Peyton Manning at QB. His numbers aren't totally in his control.

No top 10 team has a Peyton Manning-like QB.

I dunno WTF Crabtree was expecting. He wants top 10 money, but doe not want to go to a top 10 team because he fears that he won't be able to earn the incentives?

Only if they'll give you a discount each week that he sits out.

We should trade him to the Raiders, that way he'll be miserable for the rest of his career.

Relax people... I'd be willing to bet Crabtree just went home to celebrate his birthday! Would you want to spend your birthday in a new city, where you don't have many friends? Or would you rather be near your friends and family? I would want to be near my friends and family.

Slow your role people, A DEAL WILL GET DONE! These "experts" don't know s**t. None of us do!

Again I say...

Niners GM McCloughan upbeat on Crabtree
John Crumpacker, Chronicle Staff Writer

Sunday, August 30, 2009

(08-30) 04:00 PDT Arlington, Texas -- Throughout his non-presence at training camp, top draft pick Michael Crabtree has been in the Bay Area, not his native Dallas. Perhaps that's an indication the 49ers will be able to sign the Texas Tech wide receiver before the regular season begins.

"It'll get done," general manager Scot McCloughan said Saturday. "What's three or four months on a five- or six-year contract?"

The thinking is that if Crabtree signs before the Sept. 13 opener at Arizona, he would be able to contribute as a rookie, although not as much as he would have had he been in training camp from the start.

Kawakami: QB fight looks even after opening roundNFL: Vick anxious to make good on second chance with EaglesAs far as Jed York is concerned, there is no turning back in the high-stakes poker with first-round pick Michael Crabtree. He said he is confident the 49ers will get a deal done.

"We're all in,'' he said.

Speaking to a handful of reporters just before kickoff, York noted that Friday marked the trade deadline for unsigned draft choices.

Earlier in the day, there were breakthroughs with some other top picks. The Green Bay Packers reportedly signed defensive lineman B.J. Raji, the No. 9 overall pick, to a five-year, $28.5 million deal that includes just under $18 million in guaranteed money.

Offensive tackle Eugene Monroe, the No. 8 overall pick in last spring's draft, signed a five-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Crabtree, the Texas Tech receiver, is believed to be seeking a contract worth more than is unofficially slotted for a No. 10 draft choice.

York did not address financial figures. He said only that the ink would eventually be on the dotted line.

"We'll get it done,'' he said. "I don't know when, but we'll get it done."
