didn't know if someone posted that yet or not.

Good point. He is 22 so he probably wanted to party with some friends

Wouldnt it make sense to leave before your birthday?

Hope Mr. Eugene Parker "king of holdouts" is happy. One of your clients is really going to go through with it.
Raji left town from Green Bay and then signed the very next day. I wouldn't read much into leaving town.

Ya, I mentioned that before.

Its a ploy, nothing more. If you want more money from a team, you need them to think they are at risk of losing the player.

How do you do that? You have the player leave town thinking they are on the verge of losing him.

Its EXACTLY what Raji did and as the pozster above said, he signed the next day.

I think Crabtree is about to cave and its a last ditch effort.

He's not gonna sign. You guys just need accept it and move on. Be like Sing and worry about the guys who are here.
hmmm... this going home thing can be rather interesting. he will be around people that care about him and it is quite possible that someone has a heart to heart with him on him on his birthday. could go either way. his family can either sit with him and tell him to sign the contract or they could tell him to hold out. he appears to listen to his family a lot and this trip back home could be big.

Even if Crabtree holds out, the 49ers still gain something - respect. Respect not just from everyone else in the league, but also from agents around football. If they see a team that actually lets their first round draft pick sit out the season, watch how fast our other picks sign with us next year.

That said, I really hope a deal gets done. Even if it does, we still gain that respect for holding our ground for as long as we did. I think the Seattle game could be huge for us. If we manage to win that game and start the year 2-0 without any significant roster additions AND our first round pick, Crabtree will be even more nervous, and we look even better around the league.

If we start low balling a contract that he already thinks is too low, he is not going to sign. This guy looks like a prick. He needs to watch the P Willy story on youtube and sign. Ungrateful punk.
I saw a Crabtree jersey at the mall today. Should I go back and buy it?

Yup, you've got to figure that Eugene Parker knows all the common ploys and he's going to use them all before it's done. As for the signing, we'll see. I suspect that if it is going to get done, then it'll have to be done in the next fifteen or sixteen days. If it's not done by that time, then I doubt that it'll get done at all. For whatever it's worth, I still think the safe money is on him signing within this time period.
Im sure he is having a great birthday partying with Deion at Jerry Jones's mansion

I am also sure that the organization knows that trick of a player. The team has buried their heels in the dirt and they arent budging. they would rather lose crabtree to the draft than to be reamed then to gain the reputation in the league as a team you can walk all over.
