He's the one who entered the draft knowing full well that he would probably not be able to run a 40 and was coming off injury.

Does he really think he can go higher than the top 10 pick with a year out of football and a group of elite WR's likely coming out in next years draft?

I thought we finally had a #1 receiver, now I'm just sad.

The curse of TO lives on.

Man this sucks...........we're the only team in the leauge not able to sign our first rounder since 1978. Scotty and Parage are a f**ken joke........this really sucks man. It's enough blame to go around on both sides!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

um... no I fully back the organization on this one.

Your crazy if you think drafting Crabtree was a bad decision. Not only was crabtree the best available player but he was also a position of need. Drafting Crabtree was a no-brainer.

The 49ers gave him a fair offer and Crabtree was too selfish to accept. If thats the way he wants to be then i dont want him on the team anyways. Scotty and Parage did the right thing

I'm not saying drafting Crabs was a bad decision....I LOVE THE PICK. But your crazy if you think the Niners did everything in their power to sign the kid.....f**k a fair offer....get it done increase the Garaunteed money....I mean Crabs has a point...the slotting system is a joke...

You don't want him on this team??....I hope you feel that way at the end of the season...I mean don't the yorks have a history of being cheap?? I see nothing changes around here.

I don't think it has anything to do with the organization being cheap. I think they are afraid of losing leverage for any future first round draft picks. They have two next year.

Hopefully, we will be more diligent in the future in regards to sign-ability.

Think about it rationally and not emotionally for a minute and you'll see how ridiculous that sounds. What is your BUSINESS reason for wanting to pay $$$tree over slot value?

While rookie salaries are out of control the slotting system is the only means of imposing some order on an otherwise disorderly system. If you throw that system out or break it (like you're implying they should) then you'll never get anyone signed to a reasonable deal.

Well put.

Oh, this hasn't been posted here yet? Well, for those that don't constantly refresh the home section of 49erswebzone like I do:

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/09/14/crabtree-is-getting-nervous/

To be taken with a grain of salt like always with PFT, reports of anxiety from Crabtree.

Oops, I looked back 3 pages, thought it was enough.

Oh well, do what you can to get that post count up. Only about 900+ more posts of fail pics for you to go.

To quote Dave Chappelle she's probably just sad that she can't be in the "itty bitty titty committee"

No they don't have a history of being cheap with FA's or draft picks. The blame should be placed on the greedy draft pick that has shown nothing, not the front office who has rightly offered a fair contract. And who thinks the slotting system is a joke? You? So by your method we should overpay and if he doesn't live up to that contract fans like yourself can s**t all over the front office for overpaying? C'mon dude.
Sorry if I'm late on this question as I can't keep up with all these Crabtree threads, but it would be interesting to know if anyone on the team does talk to him as reported. Someone asked Matt M and he said he did not any player on our team who talks to Crabtree.

OMG leaving the bay area...on his birthday...to be with family and friends.

Adam schefter doesnt know s**t, no one does. Every report right now is pure speculation.
Adam Schefter

49ers haven't made any decisions about whether to reduce their offer to Crabtree. They've discussed that option, along with other options.about

1 hour ago from UberTwitter
Crabtree and his family/entourage are celebrating his birthday at a Dallas, TX Chuck E Cheese. The little baby loves his Chuck E Cheese.

Reports are Crabtree was seen headed into a bathroom where he spent over 5 minutes on the stall. This lead to multiple new sources speculating that Crabtree is getting an upset stomach due to contract issues. Thus generating more specualtion that he will either cave soon or ask for more money to pay for additonal toilet paper.

Crabtree is allowed to leave the area right? He is not on house arrest or anything, why is this such a big deal, its his birthday people he is probably going to get f**ked up with his millions he just signed

...and oh by the way, B.J. Raji left Green Bay THE DAY BEFORE HE SIGNED.

Its a last ditch negotiating tactic. Crabtree will sign soon.

They are pulling out the stops.
Front page article from PFT says that Crabtree will either " break or harden his position in the next week or so"

Fascinating . . . they "think" that he may continue what he is doing, OR do somethink different.

Who writes this stuff?

I don't care if he doesn't sign until week 10, just sign the guy. Once Bruce retires who the hell are we going to have? Get'r done.

The niners do have two first round picks next year. The carolina pick is looking pretty good right now. I still believe they will get a deal done with Crabtree.
