A thought that's been kicking around my noggin for a couple of days just came-up on KNBR with Fitz & Brooks along with Kevin Lynch. The name of Curt Flood came up and the idea that Crabtree and Parker are doing what they're doing with the specific intent to make an impact on how the NFL does business with future rookies.

It's no more or less plausible than the next theory. Just throwing it out there.

If their intent is to make the NFL implement a rookie salary cap, then yeah they're doing an outstanding job.

If anything positive comes out of this it will be a formal rookie salary cap.

What sucks is that out of all the teams, it had to be us to suffer through it

rashaun woods, alex smith, michael crabtree...

Something positive better go the 9ers way, such as :

1) Craptree comes to his senses and signs his Muti-Millionaire cntract

2) The 9ers wake up and petition the NFL to investigate what Deion said about 2 teams talken to Craptree camp.

3) The NFL awards the 9ers draft picks upon confirming who those teams were.

The Yorks, McCloughan & Singletary need to step up and fight back to show this franchise cannot be stepped on!!!

I'm still pissed the NFL had no problem making an example out of us with that LB Briggs thing and took a 5th rounder from us and made us switch 3rd round spots with Bears.

If 9ers got with, I bet we could get Craptree and get extra draft picks, because I believe 2 other NFL teams did INDEED tamper with our draft pick Craptree.

or deion might have been stupid enough to TRY and set up an NFL contract smokescreen involving two false teams

Deion is definitely stupid enough, that's a given.

Nah..we have until next year.

If he doesn't sign vefore the first game, it means he loses a game check. It doesn't mean he's never gonna sign.

This is just one step in a long Journey...unless he signs here in short order.
Crabtree will forever be hated in my heart and the team dumb enough to trade for him or draft him. Unless of course he signs...

I guess I learned my lesson on buying rookie jerseys...

I was 1 click away from buying it, then I just decided to hold on and got a Gore jersey instead....

I should've just bought a Rice jersey like I planned.

You've got a collectors item now
Here is my bottom line:

*I do indeed think Crabtree is a spoiled brat, who got all the attention he seeked in College.

* Yes, it's very clear he adores the limelight and, Big Money, bright cloths, shiny jewery, expensive cars.

* The dude is the second coming of his idol, Deion Sanders, character, personality wise.

*IF, and this is a BIG if, Craptree comes to his senses and joins this 9ers team, I think he can GROW-UP quick because he will be surrounded by young super star talent and superstar character players to learn from in Willis-Gore-Davis (Yes, Davis himself has finally got it together) Morgan (yep, i think this guy produces big this season) plus the head man to guild him too in Singletary.

I think this is the BEST "young and upcoming team" for Craptree to learn how to be a a true professional .... But I don't know if Craptree recognizeds this.

What makes you think, if he signs with the 49ers, he would make any sort of impact his first year, if not few years?
