I'm sure Jason Hill's game play will be heavily taken into account. Remember, the past few years, Battle barley practiced but his play on the field outweighed most others.

Practice, Preseason,...is being held far higher than it should. Gamers and winners is what this league is about.

I don't get it.... he played well for us last year when Hill was named the starter.....he made key catches that helped us convert important 3rd downs.....

so if he played alot better than some were expecting, rather than looking horrible during regular season games.... why are alot of fans bashing the kid because of training camp....you would think he would be given the benefit of the doubt until a couple of games into the preseason....no?

It's like dying of thirst in the desert and seeing a mirage of an oasis. Niner fans (myself included) are desperate for news, and will invent it in their minds where none exists.

Hill will be fine. If Spurlock or Zeigler are going to fight their way onto the roster it will be at someone else's expense.
What? Why?
Come on Hill, I have you as my number 1 on Madden 09 and my number 3 on Madden 10. Don't make me restart my franchise mode cuz you can't make the team.

yeah but battle was a proven vet and established on the roster before he had bad practices due to injuries. Hill doesn't have the years of experience or the "excuse" to explain why he has had a bad camp.

Thank You Matt Maiocco!!! Matt Maiocco finally reports what my friend has been telling me. My friend works with the 49ers, and he's at the practices daily, and has been telling me tha Hill looks like crap. He's been dropping key catches, and easy cathces. Now today Maiocco reports:

"Also from Maiocco: Spurlock seems to be having a better camp than Jason Hill. Perhaps there's a spot for him on the 53-man roster."

I never was really high on Hill maybe that's because our GM can't draft a decent WR. I mean his best pick has been Morgan, I'll give him props on that, other than that he hasn't drafted a decent WR.

Hill has been hurt way to much.

Of course your friend does... another typical fan

While there have been reports of good plays by various receivers, Hill's name has been conspicuously missing. Someone else brought this up in another thread a while back and not much was made of it, but could Hill be one of those "surprise" cuts after camp? We've got some talent there now and a good performance down the stretch last year may not be enough to overcome prior underachieving and a poor camp this year.
"Potential" has been used entirely too much when describing recent 9'ers, and this may be the kid's last chance, at least in San Fran.
I don't understand why you would be happy that someone's pointing out that Hill's struggling. Hill is from the area, loves the Niners, wants to succeed, and has made some clutch catches. Had some great ones last season.

This is a ridiculous thread, and for shame for being excited at his struggles.
Jason Hill is one of my6 fav players on the team. I hope he makes the 53 man roster.
At the end of last season we all witnessed some fine play from WR Hill. So it is very puzzeling why Hill appears, at least so far, to not have taken the the next step up in improvement like all the other last season's Wr's.

Let's just hope WR Hill turns it around, quick!

I think at the very least if he becomes the odd man out at WR.... the 9ers could get a draft pick for him versus simply cutting him and getting nothing in return.

Agreed, people who are bashing J.Hill obviously didn't watch him play last year.

Just more nonsense here on the zone....
