I don't doubt his coaching, I know he is the right man for the job, and I know we're going to retake our rightful place atop the NFC West in 2009.
I believe in him 100 percent but some people will need to see it to believe it and others are just pessimists. you know how people on this site are though. some people want him to fail cuz theyre upset we didnt get shanahan or holmgren or another guy they wanted so oh well i guess.
I'll play the wait and see game with Singletary.... He took the talent we had last season and got the most out of them when he took over. So he's got that going for him.

I wouldn't use Ditka as an example... I think that Ditka under performed in Chicago. He should have won 2-3 Superbowls with a talent like Walter Payton running the ball.
I believe Mike will get the 9ers playing postseason football again for years. I am neither certain that he can nor would I say he can't... but so far so good. A lot of people are reluctant to put their faith in things... mostly because they are afraid that this faith will be crushed and leave them heartbroken. Grow up and get over it, people. You can't fully enjoy something if you refuse to commit yourself to it.
Yes it's true he turned the team around last year and had them playing better...but for me the jury is out until he coaches a full season. I do agree there is no sense in bashing him until we see what this team can do in the 2009 regular season though.

....But the bottom line here for me is that he can't tell me these men are winners this year HE HAS TO SHOW ME!
I am very confident in his abilities, but my biggest hesitation is his previous mentor... Nolan! How much of what he learned from Nolan will not show until later this year I am sure. We all liked "the suit" at first, and then quickly regarded him as the worst coach ever!

I wouldn't be so quick to judge him with a his impressive pedigree. Does Mike Ditka Ring a Bell? Mike Ditka was a tightend and coached one of the greatest defenses ever seen. Does Tom Landry ring a bell? Mike Ditka was his Assistant Coach for nine seasons. Singletary has turned everyone into stars that he has coached.

Still doubt his coaching..

Who is Tom Laundry? Did he play for the niners?

Yes, and here's why:

1) He has no previous HCing experience (successful or otherwise) prior to his
interim status with the niners which hardly qualifies.
2) He's only been a coach in the league for 5 years despite being 51 y/o.
3) He has no previous experience as anything other than a motivating LB coach.
4) He did not work his way up through the ranks of DC, etc as most other HC's do.
5) He was prematurely fast-tracked to the position without a carefully planned and
executed search for HC (hired the last day of the season )
6) I believe his own alma mater did not want him despite his HOF status.
7) He was not hired by any other team who interviewed him.
8) He was not even granted an interview by some other teams in need of a HC.
9) Pertaining to #7,8 - legitimate owners obviously wanted nothing to do with him.
10) The only guy willing to hire him was an equally inexperienced and unqualified
owner in Jed York.
11) Former players turned HC don't have a great track record in the NFL.

While MS is a motivator and the players apparently believe in him, these glaring red flags have me and others seriously questioning his chances of success. Fans of any team would be skeptical of any new coach based on these points. I hope he proves me wrong and shocks the football world.
