Asked whether the decision could affect stadium construction, which began in April, a 49ers spokesman declined to comment. The team's front office has said it would simply eat the loss if it loses the funds, which amount to less than 3 percent of the cost of the $1.2 billion stadium that is set to open in 2014

....usually gets passed down to the consumers............ (us).

It won't be in the PSL price since those are already set. They will just increase the price of hot dogs by a nickle.

Yup. All of the season tix holders got their chance first. They have till Aug 17th to decide to buy/not buy.

Once they start doing moves, they will process the requests in the order that people purchased their new seats. The people who got their seats at the very start of the window to purchase will get the first options to move.

That was one of the reasons I jumped in quickly last week.

So I'm going to meet the rep this week. Are you guys saying they have your seats assigned to you arleady or just the general seating area? Also, I've come to learn not to believe anything those reps say. Those guys lie through their teeth.

The exact seats are already assigned to you (For Example I was offered Section 225, Row 13, seats 5 and 6). Ticketmaster took a diagram of Candlestick and tried to extrapolate as best they could where you would sit in the new stadium (keeping in mind that if you were low and anywhere near the 50, those are now Club Seats and insanely expensive...although you would have been contacted long before now if that were the case). Some of the seats are pretty close to their Candlestick location, some aren't even close because the seats are arranged radically different.

Unless you decide to upgrade to Club Seats you will be offered one set of seats, take it or leave it. All of the season tix holders will have until August 17 to buy their assigned seats.

After August 17th, whomever purchased their seats will be eligible to move into seats that were NOT purchased. The requests will be processed in the order that those people purchased their SBLs (IE I got them two weeks ago so I would get priority over you because I purchased sooner).

Only after those moves will they move on to the Priority Waitlist and then to the General Public.

Hope this helps.

Oh...and BTW, I actually liked my Rep. Then again, I educated myself on everything before I even spoke with him and all he really had to do was confirm what I already knew.

Thanks, Marv! That was really helpful. Is there anything else you think I should know before I see the rep? Any website that helped you do your research? If you dont reply, I'll just assume its a no. Thanks again.
I pretty much figured it all out just by asking peeps on this forum (in this thread mostly) what the deal was.

A couple things.

1) If you ever fail to buy your 49er season tix, the SBL does not become void, but it does make it so that you can no longer buy season tix. IE, you still have the right to buy seats to events before the general public, but not to buy Season Tix. I think that way they can say you still "own" it and they owe you nothing.
2) You can will, sell, or transfer your SBL.

The best Website is...

The interactive map is pretty sweet.
Lowell just posted an imbecilic article about the county taking away the money. You can read it here: http://www.pressdemocrat.com/article/20120625/NEWS/120629682/1057/SPORTS0908?p=all&tc=pgall

I responded to his blog with the following (which is not moderated/up yet), which can be found here: http://cohn.blogs.pressdemocrat.com/15767/very-bad-if-49ers-sue-santa-clara/comment-page-1/#comment-33360

"The 49ers should just turn around and let themselves get screwed over by an illegal seizure of designated funds? Ridiculous.

For the record, if it was the other way around I would feel the same way. If it was money that had been promised to school funding and the board suddenly decided to loan it to a private company it would be just as ethically incorrect.

The County has an obligation to follow the law. Period. Otherwise we might as well hand over our voting privileges, carry residency papers, and stand in bread lines.

"[The 49ers] should have seen this coming and prepared for it." This is moronic and the equivalent of saying that one should expect government to back out of deals illegally and blindside people they've worked with in good faith. So, basically, when government screws you over, it's the fault of the person/entity being screwed for believing they wouldn't be. This is so backwards as to defy basic tenets of moral action. "Hey man, you shoulda known I was about to punch you in the face. The fact that I'm a known face-puncher is enough for the blame to be transferred from me to you."

So, it's bad to sue your hosts, but your hosts can spit in your face all they like as long as they have power trips? What kind of terrible reasoning is this, Lowell?

All I read in your article is that the 49ers and Joe Public should be "good citizens" by allowing their government to walk over them. What about criticizing the County for blindsiding the 49ers and doing this without any warning? What about them blatantly disregarding the will of the voters? What about the continued theft of the American public by the politicians who are supposed to adhere to the will of the people they represent but then back-out of that commitment and then get praised for it because they cushion the blow with promises of "thinking of the children!"?

I'm sorry, but this is simply a high profile example of the continued political corruption and backhanded tricks that this country is drowning in. I hope the 49ers sue the hell out of the County, win + with damages, and the County residents decline to re-elect these representatives that refuse to follow the will of the people for their own whims of do-goodery that are almost always public showboating.

And by the way, I agree that the redevelopment programs that were for blight had run their course and should have been discontinued, but that doesn't mean you back out of commitments already agreed to. At the absolutely very least the County needed to approach the 49ers about working out a more amiable resolution if they were that desperate for the money, but they didn't, instead just kicking their "good citizens" in the shin without warning after they already moved into the neighborhood."

I saw him on Chronicle Live.

Dude is a certified a$$hat.

He essentially chastized the 49ers when they had done NOTHING to this point.

There was another conversation where they were talking about whether or not Harbaugh was a jerk.

Which side do you suspect Mr. Cohen fell on the issue? The guy essentially is all bent out of shape over the way Harbaugh treats him. He poses leading questions and Harbaugh simply refuses to be led. He will often reject the entire premise of a question. Mr. Cohen seems completely unable to see that Harbaugh simply doesn't like the media and doesn't like people trying to take his words to paiunt a picture he doesn't want painted.

Harbaugh USES the media to accomplish HIS purposes, not the other way around. Walsh, while not as harsh, did the exact same thing. He constantly painted a picture of "us against them". Cohen is just all bent out of shape.

Please retire Lowell and take yer kid with you.

They already have your seats selected before you even show up. I wanted to move closer to the field and he said he couldn't do it until all the season ticket holders have met with them.

So why do you have to meet with them? Why would I want to drive all the way to Santa Clara during traffic hours for him to tell me this is what Ive been assigned? Weird.

I did it over the phone
I'm home sick today, so I decided to call my rep. Good news, we had the meeting over the phone so I dont have to drive to SC...Yes!!!

He gave me my seats too..... Unfortunatly the section I sat in no longer exists in the new stadium.....it's like a balcony now....

My new seats seem pretty good though (for the price). Section 207 row 2, aisle seats.... Thats on the north end, visitor side, but on the second level.

Wait, does that mean I wont be able to see the jumbotron?
