Ya, you don't own it cause for events like the super bowl you don't get rights to tickets. And you have to buy your season ticket every year or lose license.

But in terms of football, if someone wants to get season tickets they are first going to have to come through the SBL owners.

Or if they just want tix to almost any game, they have to go to the season tix holders. I heard it will be a very limited supply available to the general public. That would suck if I were not now an SBL holder, but as an SBL holder its a pretty good deal to be the only game in town. ;-)

Yeah and you only had to pay 20 grand for that. More actually if you finance it.

20k? Why...they are 5K each and I got 2. They'll be paid off before the interest hits in 2014.

10k then. Thought you got 4, my bad.

I just wouldn't exactly call that "lucky."

LOL.

Whats "lucky" is that I got tix in the 200 section 3 months early and am in position to move to much better seats should they become available because people (like you) are balking at the price.

It's "lucky" that I won't be stuck with whatever is left after all of the season tix holders have had their chance.

Who says I am balking at the price? My relocation is date and time stamped already bud.

I just feel bad for all the people falling for all the sales crap about this being an investment. The niners got incredibly lucky with the timing of all this. It is a perfect storm of a team that was one win from the SB, a new tech bubble in the bay and a new stadium. There is a reason the team is forcing people to make a decision before the season starts. The niners suck this year and that 10g's "investment" you just bought already loses money. One of the people mentioned buy low and sell high. Well this is definitely a high point. There may be others but you are basically banking on the team winning the SB in the first 5 years and the economy being booming at that time. It is highly unlikely.

Now I'm not hating on people buying them. Go for it, I will be. Just don't consider yourself lucky, you are paying out the ass for these rights. It isn't an investment, it is a luxury.

If you want to be super "lucky" I'm sure the niners will sell you any remaining club level seats. There is no real priority here which is my main point. This is simply a case of money walks and BS talks. People willing to throw cash around will get what they want.

Time to short it.

Yup. All of the season tix holders got their chance first. They have till Aug 17th to decide to buy/not buy.

Once they start doing moves, they will process the requests in the order that people purchased their new seats. The people who got their seats at the very start of the window to purchase will get the first options to move.

That was one of the reasons I jumped in quickly last week.

Just put the 10% down payment on my 4 seats. Section 128, Row 13. Now just got to make sure to pay it all before the stadium opens. I can't wait!!

Santa Clara County yanks $30 million in funding for 49ers stadium

Maybe they'll need to use Personal Breathing Licenses at the new 49ers stadium, after all.
In a surprise move, Santa Clara County has pulled $30 million that it previously had pledged to the team's new stadium, according to Mike Rosenberg of the San Jose Mercury News.

Per Rosenberg, the team and Santa Clara city politicians "strongly and passionately object" to the move. (Maybe they should try to strenuously object.)
County officials have decided to keep the money, explaining that they'd rather devote the cash to teachers than to "little televisions in the back of stadium seats," a feature that county tax collector George Putris believes the team plans to install.

In 2010, Santa Clara County voters approved the use of $40 million in redevelopment funds. California, however, scuttled redevelopment agencies after the county paid only $10 million to the stadium effort. The 49ers paid the remaining $30 million, with the understanding that the county would repay the money from property tax revenues.

This is why I really hate politicians.

They frame the argument as "why are we paying for TVs on the back of seats instead of paying teachers" when what they are REALLY doing is saying "hey...we know your going to build it anyway so we are going to take away the money we promised you".

This is people reneging on their obligation because the other party is already committed. It's wrong.

Anyone who looks at this and says that "it's ok, teachers are more important than TVs on the chairs" is COMPLETELY missing the point. This isn't Robin Hood. It ain't steal from the rich and give to the poor. Its the 49ers LENDING the city 30 Million and then simply deciding, "ya know what? Screw you, I ain't gonna pay it back".

F*CK the county on this one. The stadium is going to get built and I'll bet you the 49ers will get their money in court, but the County just screwed up in a big way. The 49ers will get their money and it will cost the county EVEN MORE in legal fees.

Stupid and short sighted. Whats more, they did it on the downlow. There wasn't even a clue given that it was going to be on the agenda.

EDIT: and BTW, for people who might be confused...me included....I THINK the City and County of Santa Clara are different entities. The City of Santa Clara and San Jose are IN Santa Clara County.

^^^^^ Chicken $hit pandering. And now the County will just spend half the $30 million deciding how to spend the other half.

Nah...I think the Niners get the Money and the County losses a bunch more money because it ends up having to pay its ow and the 49ers legal fees.

The they will come out and make the Niners look like the villains and say its their fault they had to lay off teachers.

No, you agreed to pay for something, you reneged, and they got theirs in court.
Oh yeah better spent on teachers than on tvs on the back of seats. WTF are they talking about the morons already have the money to pay the teachers from tax dollars already doled out to them. What the f**k are they trying to do? Give the teachers a 30 million dollar raise? They already promised that money to the 49ers and then take it back on some b******t grounds?

What the f**k.
"TVs on the back of seats"? Morons.
