I know its not a big deal, but im gonna miss calling our stadium, "Candlestick park".

To be honest, i feel like our stadium has the best name.
Its not a company name, like At&t park, O.Co, Oracle, etc.

It was unique, and different.

I wonder what their gonna name this stadium.
I was thinking prob the HP Stadium, since HP is one of our biggest sponsers, but again, thats just like the SJ Sharks stadium.

I might find myself calling it Candlestick on accident in the future,

yeah good thing candlestick was never called something ridiculous like 3com or monsterpark

Most fans still called it Candlestick or The Stick anyways. Heck, if we all join in and refuse the new name we can call the new one Candlestick Park if we want. Nah, depends if it's an acceptable name or not. If not I might call it 49ers stadium. Still, it would be impossible for the Yorks to pass up 200+ million over say 10 years.... could be a lot more. Naming rights alone would pay back the NFL for the 200 million dollar loan and then some. Could get really high with all the tech companies vying for it.
If they were ever going to stay in SF Mission Bay would have been an awesome build site. Between McCovey Cove and the UCSF property left of Giants lots B & C. It still would have had limited freeway access, but the CalTrain station is just across the cove on 4th street, the Powell street BART station is about another mile down 4th street, and it could have had ferry service. The skyline views could have been sweet !!!

This is why peeps are freaking out. Candlestick doesn't have club seats. They have no direct comparison. The SBL for these seats is between 20K and 80K, but in Dallas they went for as much as 150K.

The rest of the stadium will be much more modestly priced. Unfortunately, people who have currently have season tix in this comparable "area" at the 'stick are getting SERIOUS sticker shock when they see the price of the SBL. There are only 9K of these seats tho in a 68K seat stadium.

Can you provide some clarification re: the SBLs?

As I understand it, the 20K-80K SBL fee is a one-time cost that does not cover the price of tickets. So, after paying the 20K for the SBL, I'd then have to purchase the season tickets each and every year, correct?

Just wondering how they work; not for or against them though I fully understand how such a fee will price some season ticket holders out of the stadium.

McCovey Cove, duh!

Just Got to say, DAMN the City is breathtaking.
The stadium will be nice, but the area is s**t....Nothing like the view of a beautiful stadium in a dumpy parking lot.

That area is going to be awesome. There is so much s**t around. NONAME's wife works at a bar close by and we can hang there after games. Can't wait.

The SBL gives you the right to buy a season ticket in that location for the life of the building. I'm not sure how existing Season Tickets go, but I THINK if you don;t buy one year, you lose out on that right the next year. You season ticket holders feel free to correct me if I'm wrong there.

Those 20K-80K are the absolute top end of the pricing (with the exception of suites). Everything else in the stadium will be cheaper....probably ALOT cheaper.

The SBLs (tho called all sorts of different things) are pretty standard these days in new parks because Cities will no longer foot the bill. The monie has to come from somewhere.

WTF are you talking about? That area is NOT dumpy. Want proof?

THESE are the other buildings and attractions in the IMMEDIATE area...as in within 1/4 mile. Keep in mind that these don't even take into account the Montana/DeBartolo Hotel/Sports Bar/Restraunt that would be accross the street.

Convention Center

Hyatt

Hilton

Golf Course

Great America

All with EXISTING access via....

The Shipyard would have been nice because of the water and a possible view of downtown, but calling this area of Santa Clara "dumpy" is freakin' ignorant.

LOL @ the Santa Clara area being dumpy.

I've been in that area so many time's. I used to go to the Church down the street from the Yahoo building.

Beautiful area.
So, lets say i go to Great America the same time as the game.

If i ride the tallest ride there, would i be able to see the field and players from my view?
