I wonder how big a deal ($$$) it would be to relocate that soccer facility? I know there's a ton of open space just north of the Golf Course. Anyway, with everything going on around it the soccer park seems very misplaced now.
@Marvin, where you have Hotel in the first pic, I was under the impression that was actually Great America's lot and not the Hilton lot?

I think this stadium is gonna be prime for Super Bowl L in terms of setting up the week's activities. Hilton, Hyatt, across the street and Mariott a good 2 minute drive away all nearby along with a Santa Clara Convention center to host all of the media activities.
Nice frickin' job, Marvin! Thanks for doin' that and sharing with us.

It is...was just sayin "hey, theres a hotel over here". It's actually on the corner of Great America Parkway and Tasman.

Just to illustrate your point...wider shot of the map and pics of the two hotels you just mentioned. I also threw in the Convention Center. This is going to be very nice and perfect for hosting Super Bowls. The Stadium is there of course. The Niner complex is there for the teams to practice. The Convention Center is there for media row and special events. The High Class hotels are within walking distance. And gravy on top? An updated Great America and Golf Course. You just know that the NFL would partner with Great America and do all sorts of Super Bowl activities.

Add to all this ACCESSABILITY. THREE freeways nearby, 6 lane roads all over the place, Heavy Rail, Light Rail (that LITERALLY passes about 40-50 feet of the stadium on Tasman).

Peeps who don't get this are nuts. THE WHOLE AREA WAS BUILT AS AN ENTERTAINMENT AREA. The Stadium is the perfect compliment.

EDIT: Wait...I forgot.......The Hilton, The Hyatt, The Marriott, AND the Montana/DeBartolo Hotel/Sports Bar/Restraunt complex. Thats FOUR large Hotels within walking distance, the 49ers facility, the Convention Center, Great America and a Golf Course. SMH...why don't people get it?

OK......I drove down at lunch today to see what was going on there. First, I'll show a map of exactly where I was in order to get an idea of what you are looking at. There is an overpass nearby the site that goes over a road and train tracks. Looking at a map, it just looks like a road, but it is in fact an overpass. Below is the site showing where I was in red and where everything is/will be. Forgive the quality of the Photos...they were taken with my iPhone. Once construction actually begins, I'll have a better camera.

This first picture is where I have "Parking?" on the map. I dunno if it's going to be parking or part of the Montana/DeBartolo project. It's IS currently being flattened out right now. You can see the golf course there in the background.

This one is of the Stadium Site itself. 49ers employees are parking on it now and Construction Crews are using it for storage, etc to do the "make ready" work. You can see Great America Roller Coasters in the background.

This is a shot of the 49ers HQ. Those are soccer fields in the foreground.

This is the soon to be extinct Centennial Blvd. with the HQ on the left and the Stadium Site on the right. When completed, the structures will sit about 20 feet from each other.

And finally, i walked a bit farther down the sidewalk to get a shot of the Parking Garage under construction. It's kinda hard to see as it's a bit down the road...if you start at the traffic signal and move your eye straight down...that's it. It then extends almost all the way across the picture. As you can see in the map, it's across the street from the stadium. I THINK the Montana/DeBartolo project will sit right next to it....so between my vantage point and the garage.

thanks marvin. I love you!
eat your heart out jerry jones....jed & gid are bout to PWN yo' azz in the bid for Super Bowl L

The SC city council will vote tonight to the final agreement with the construction company. That should be it and we should be a go for breaking ground and construction getting underway. .

I have to think that if the South Bay got a Basketball team, they'd play in the HP Pavilion. No need to build another one.
