I just made my appointment, Im in the first group too. Once you make an appointment they send you the SBL agreement. It doesn't have any prices (I'm assuming that's based on seat location) but it does have the finance plan. It's essentially a 12 year financing plan at 8.5%. You need to pay 10% upfront (like right now), 10% in 2013 and 10% in 2014. Starting in 2015 you can finance for an additional 10 years.

Once I have my appointment and get the prices I'll let you know. If anyone has once before me (27th of Jan) please post. My guess is around 10k per seat in the lower bowl, 5k upper bowl. Premium club seats could be higher.

This sucks. Been a holder for a while (including a lot of bad years) and now this.

Wow, they are actually charging 8.5% interest as well! Good lord this is legalized extortion. The real sad part is the true faithful, those with the best sidelines seats who have had tickets for 30+ years, are going to have to pay the most. Great way to look out for the most loyal fans.

Also, can you confirm if the appointment is an in person visit, or is it conducted over the phone? I live in Pennsylvania and would not want to fly in for a 30 meeting sales pitch.

"Legalized Extortion" is right.......welcome to the NFL. The NFL and the Yorks do not care about the most loyal fans, they want all the money they can get, they don't care who pays for the Tickets, in fact the owners would rather have Corp Companys own season tickets.

Less people to deal with less invoices and so on... Hard Core long time season ticket holder's don't buy stuff inside the stadium. They don't pay $10 bucks for beer and $5 bucks for a coke, they don't buy jerseys or hats inside, and all the other garbage they sell.

The corp season ticket holders give their seats to customers or workers, most of them only go to games once in awhile, but they do spend $$$ at the game and inside the parks, so this is where all the $$$ is to be made. I said this for years, they don't want to keep the fans they have now that have had season tickets for years. If you own season tickets get ready to get bent over and pay up, if you don't you are out your season tickets no matter how long you have owned them when the new ball park comes. And some Corp will be more then willing to pay $$$ and take you seats that you have held for many years. Thanks for all the years.

If fans don't want to pay it, then they won't pay it. They have that option.

At the end of the day, some fans are just upset they have to spend more money. There are no "victims" here. Nobody has a gun to their head. Fans have a choice. #FirstWorldProblems

Of course the Niners want to pursue the option that produces the best LTV (lifetime value) of a client. That's just good business.

The Niners are spending $1 billion dollars to bring fans one of the best gameday experiences in sports. Did you really think they'd just eat that cost? Or desire to break even? Or sit in a conference room and decide how much profit was enough? That they're building a billion dollar stadium just for s**ts-n-giggles? That's not reality. They're doing it so they can make money off it -- and provide you with a great (sustainable) product. The product fans demand.

They run a for-profit corporation. This is not a charity. This is free-market capitalism. The same system that has put you (yes you) in the top 15% of the world's richest people.

It is their duty (to all stakeholders, including fans) to make as much profit, and keep the corporation as viable as possible.

I'm a little confused... so you have to purchase the PSL and then pay for the season tickets on top of that..is that going to be the new way it's done from now on when the Santa Clara location opens up or is that just for the first few years of the new stadium?

All new stadiums for the last... 10 years? have been done this way. Dallas had ridiculous costs. NY started at 5k, until there was so much outrage. They lowered certain sections to $2500. I am guessing the Niners will follow the NY model, not Dallas. Everyone in the football world was talking about how ridiculous the prices were for that stadium
Sorry, forgot to mention the worst part. It says on the letter that you have to be prepared to make a decision at your appointment meeting. If you don't make a decision at that instant, you forgo your right to keep your same location priority.

Sounds like pressure selling tactics to me. There is no going home and 'cooling off'. Make a decision right now or you're out!

Wow... really. So they give you know idea of cost and then throw down a bill for maybe upwards of 10k and say decide now.

Do you have to sign & pay immediately? What can they do if you say yes now, then change your mind later? Do they run a credit report before providing the 8.5% "loan"?

I know it's early, but these are some things that people need to think about.
5-10-15 K sounds reasonable to me based on current PSL's in the NFL world. Nobody is forced to buy so it's not "extortion". I'm not a current season ticket holder, but I did put two $100 deposits down to see what is available after the current season ticket holders get their chance. If I can finance the PSL, I might jump. Guarantee this will be like AT&T...it will be state of the art and sold out every game.
5 is okay for me. Not really interested in paying 10 k.

My guess is you'll be forced to make an immediate deposit which they'll keep if you change your mind.

Wow this blows.
Capitalism at its finest-----and an absolute rip off. Paying thousands of dollars to be a spectator is ridiculous. As much as I like watching the 49ers, I'd rather spend my money on something that I'm an active participant in---like a ski trip to the Alps, or a new motorcycle.

Yes it does. My seats are in the south endzone, LR Sec 3, left of the goal post. I was expecting 5K per seat for the SBL, not so sure now.
30% down deposit. I got the package yesterday, its going to be bend over time. I can tell from all the BS thats inside the very $$$ package they sent me. 8.5% is loan sharking now days......I am sure the 49ers and yorks are going to make a good part of that as well.

Feels like I need to get ready for a hard sell in a room (like one of the time shares sales meetings in order to get a free hotel room)

Financing plan allows you the opportunity to finance the SBL over 10 years, fixed interest rate of 8.5% down payment of 30% make payments on remaining 70% over 10 years, annual interest. 30% down payment can be made in 3 installments 10% upon signed SBL, 10% in 2013 and 10 % in 2014.

"SBL denotes a CONTRIBUTION to building the new stadium which each SBL purchaser is making. Your SBL CONTRIBUTION willprovide you with valuable rights, including the right to purchase season tickets to 49er home games."

word for word out of the very nice $$ package I got. BTW its a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit!

STADIUM BUILDERS LICENSE (SBL) The new Santa Clara Stadium will have SBL for ALL SEATS in the stadium. SBLs are COMMONPLACE and are necessary to ALLOW MUNICIPALITIES to FINANCE THE CONSTRUCTION of new stadiums or renovate exisiting structures...
