He's not meant to compete with Davis or Walker, he's our new TE blocking specialist. He'll see most of is action in two TE sets. Davis and Walker fill the traditional TE role.
He's not a backup or third stringer. He's likely a guy who is "first string," when the play calls for his role.

I like him, another good guy, seems like a nice 3rd string TE. A decent 6th or 7th rd pick.

#1. pass rush – ____________ (n/a)
#2. OT – ____________ (n/a)
#3. RB – got a good back up
#4. WR – got a starter
#5. DT – ____________ (n/a)
#6. S – ____________ (n/a)
But what are the two most important positions in football (after QB)? #1 = Pass rusher and stopping the pass rusher (offensive tackle).......both of which remain unfilled.
So we still have the same problems we had…….... plus a lot of other needs we didn't fill. So out of this draft we got one starter, 3-4 decent back-ups, and a 1st next year (likely another starter next year).

Exactly...he was drafted to replace Billy Bajema....Walker can't block so this guy is there for 2 TE running formations.
