Neither would I,but some folks still want Hill to start even if he is not the best option.
Let's see: Hill 7-3, 4 games above 0.500. Maybe he's a Niner fan that likes it when the Niners win.
Or maybe he's just a biased douche bag that is pushing his own agenda? I trust the Matts more than Lynch any day. I do not care which QB wins the job as long as he wins it. I just think you guys are too quick to jump on Smith when he is showing that he has improved but never mention Hill's shortcomings. I am looking forward to seeing the QB's in some live game action before I am as foolish as those who think that either one of these QB's should have the job just handed to them.

Watching Hill, it seems that he almost never sets his feet or steps into his throws when he passes. Which could also be a cause for floating passes or lack of zip on passes.
Yes but most of the time, the ball gets where it needs to be.
Come on cool brotha, we all know your a big hill supporter, but can´t you give the kid some type of credit?
Honestly, it seems like Alex Smith is doing damn well in TC and better than ever...but I cannot buy into his accuracy and "strong arm" until I see it against live bullets and in not so perfect pockets. If he continues it in real games, then I'm all for him.
Well we keep hearing about the defense penetrating, and Hill escaping, and yada yada... but Smith has completed the same percentage of throws, and no one's mentioning him running out. Maybe Smith is the one with pocket presence.

who ever thinks that Lynch is a Hill homer or Alex basher needs to go back in history to his old articles..... he was the only one praising and giving Alexuses before the term ever came out..... it used to make me sick how he would report for the Chronicle and you could obviously tell he had an agenda to carry out.... this is back to when Rattay was still here.
maybe he sees the light right now or just tells it like it is and is tired of embarrassing himself writing B.S.

Hmm that is troubling. Hopefully he gets better with that.
That said, those are some strong words to use though ("straining through progressions, halting insecurity...") etc...wouldnt the Matt's have mentioned something?
I think one of the Matts wrote that Singletary yelled out to Alex to gid rid of the ball quicker as it would have been a sack. Same old Alex, hurt shoulder or not, his vision just isn't there.
Just because Singletary yells something? I guess our offensive line is the worst ever because Singletary once yelled "too many guys around the quarterback."
Look, Singletary is going to push everyone. At least in this case, someone is
actually saying something to Alex. The only way to break a bad habit is to have someone point it out and challenge you on it. I say let Singletary yell at him all day if it makes him better.
And I don't trust Kevin Lynch as far as I can throw him. On anything.
He also only mentions this issue during 7 on 7 drills. You'd think if it were a problem during 11 on 11 there would be something mentioned by Maiocco or Barrows.

Thankyou for pointing our exactly what makes Lynch so bad. It's his bias and hence the yawns.

Lynch is a joke... who actually doesn't know that by now? Didn't even know the difference between a flanker and split end months ago, and was arguing pathetically with comments when discussing the benefits of OL size.
Well I did read that Sing had to take over the huddle from alex smith the other day because it was so disorganized and obviously smith could not handle it on his own ,like Hill easily does without help .
And then today Sing needed to yell at Smith about the same old thing, him not making a decision fast enough and getting rid of the ball.
And then this afternoon Smith only completed 8 passes and 6 were incomplete (barely over 50% ), in a drill when the pass rushers can't even hit the QB !!! (I think Hill was 7 of 8 or something, about the same difference those two have in games. )
Same old smith ! When do we get to see and hear about all the great improvements he needs to show before he cn be talked about being qualified for even the backup role?
Good luck alex,I wish you all the best BUT you had better hurry up ,this is your last chance you know?

You are so off base to call ME a hater because I speak the truth of the situation. I am very optimistic about almost everything Niners but in Alex's case it is like the old saying "Fool me once shame on you but fool me twice then shame on me". Alex has been given many more than those 2 chances and has NEVER delievered even a hint that he is still not that deer in the headlights rookie disaster. He did improve a bit in his 2nd year ,improved from a total joke of a disaster to just pretty pathetic. At this rate of improvement,he will surely make the Pro Bowl in about another 40 years ,lol.
I have been a huge supporter of Smith and defended him from the huge majority of fans who saw the truth before I did . But because of his play when healthy,I finally was forced to admit he doesn't have much skill at this level.
Hopefully a miracle will happen and smith will suddenly change into a good QB. I hope he does, because I am a true fan and he is still a Niner. But I will not hold my breath until that improvement happens, because I want to live, lol.
Now sonny, grow up and stop ignorantly calling names. No need to argue among real fans ,save that for the trolls and the real haters. You know who they are because 99.9 % of everything they say is negative about the Niners, even though things have not looked this bright for the team in a decade. I am not one of them ,most of the time I am defending Sing and Scotty and Jed etc (and rightly so,because they are doing a great job).

Reading from all the blogs from various writers,...the only common thing they all say is that both QBs are doing well.

Why do people panic over one average practice...? Just yesterday Smith was 14/18 with a bunch of consecutive completed passes right? Now today he was a "lowly" 8/14 and he's in "trouble?" Chill out.
Anyway, I want to see Smith improve against the blitz. 8/14 isnt bad but it isnt spectacular either. He needs to improve on adjusting to the blitz.
And Top_Cat can you link where the "huddle was so disorganized that Sing had to take over because Smith couldnt handle it like Shaun can so eeezily!"
???

You guys need to stop trippin. Hill will start going 8-5 playing well but not great. In the 4th quarter of the 14th game behind by 10 he will go down with a broken pinky finger. Alex steps in leads the comeback and wins the next 2 games finishing 10-6. He will then lead us to a playoff win and be our starting qb for the next 7 years, never going to the probowl but still adds the 6th Lombardi to our trophy case in 2011.
