mm ofcourse

i'd be surprised if a decision were made off tonight's play

if it goes down to next week someone needs to pull away, if they both suck

Time for Davis?

It would be real cool if Davis could be our "Tom Brady". I know not to get excited over one game but I'm just saying it would be cool not to have to worry about the qb position for a long time and not have to spend another first rounder on it.

start Davis next week to light a fire under both Hill/Smith's @sses.

I think the fire's been lit for awhile now.....and I think they know we have to tread lightly with Davis, can't make the same mistake(s) Nolan did with Smith.

Old news Billy
it's this afternoon's article

Singletary said in the post game interview that no decision has been made yet...wonder if he is just being PC and not announcing it before he talks to the team?

Far as I'm concerned it was the Glenn Coffee show today, no QB impressed me.

Agreed Kolohe, the backs stole the show tonight. Most impressive play by a QB tonight was the hard block by Smith.

That was a pretty sick block from Smith, everyone at my house was like....

Davis, Bruce, & Morgan all dropped Smith's passes.

Davis and Morgan, yes. Bruce didn't really drop. That ball was deflected at the LOS and he got one hand on it.

I think Smith played better than his numbers, and he seems a little more decisive and comfortable, which is a welcome improvement, but it looks like Hill by default. Nate Davis looks like he has good touch and a very strong arm, on the other hand. Smith and Hill will probably both be riding pine this time next year.
I believe Alex Smith will be traded for a draft choice or a pass rusher to a team in need of a young quarterback. That would leave Huard as a decent backup to Hill and Nate Davis as possible future starting QB.

No way management will allow Davis to be snapped up by another team while hoping he'll slip by to the practice squad. I'd like to see Nate play with the 1st team for a few snaps.
IBTL. Haven't seen those impressive off season practices relate to the game for Smith. too bad...

Don't see it happening. I'm not really down on Smith but what pass rusher are we going to get? I think at some point in the season Alex is going to start and I kinda believe (just a hunch) the Niners might be looking at it that way to.
