Evans Just SIGNED CONTRACT with the 49ers!!! (Updated)

The Funny Part is Canty averages 2.5 sacks a year and gets 42 million??? we sign Evens who averages just under 2 sacks a year for 3.8 million? and if you look at both players 2008 production they are almost identical. Where is the logic in this? and Canty went to a team that didn't even need him no less.

Canty was getting double team alot. But im not sure about Evans. I never saw him play. But Canty is one of the reason Ware got all these sacks.

Not that I don't agree with you because Dallas runs a 3-4. But you look at guys who took on double teams like Reggie White or even our own BY and compare them to Canty. I would take BY back off the streets today for 40 million before I would sign Canty. BY took double teams his whole career and still put up a lot more than 3 sacks year. All im saying is can you look at Canty and Evens and honestly tell me you see a 38 million dollar difference.

Franklin is hot garbage. If he's our starting NT again i'll be so mad.

I really hope Sopoaga can step up and be a starter at NT.

Ive been a big McDonald fan since we drafted him, hoping he would be a solid starter for us, so i watch him pretty close to see how he does during games, he gets dominated all the time by one RT or even a TE, He is terrible against the run, and just OK at getting some pressure rushing the Passer.
Now I havent given up on him, he's still young and it takes time for DL's to get good.

But i dont see him as our starting LDE.
Balmer and Evans will probably share that position, with McD' backing up Smitty,
Sopo moving back to NT to share duties with Franklin , I think Sopo and Franklin will do alot better with another year of experiance under thier belts and being able to play 1 gap assignments now

Evans played DE in a 4-3, Canty play DE in a 3-4. BIG DIFFERENCE.

And Canty is moving to DT. Canty is 6-7. 310 lbs.

Evans, while he interchanged at DT and DE in the 4-3, is 6-3, 280ish - similar to Ray McDonald.

IIRC Evans played some DT in Washington too. He wasn't the DE all the time in their D. And he was great in run support.

It also says that he may go back to the redskins because he would most likely start after the release of Jason Taylor and he would only be a rotational player with us. Big stinkin deal, if he wants to go back to the Skins to start, I wouldn't blame him one bit.

Well to me when i read, he didn't sign a contract in San Francisco, has gone back to Washington to strongly consider playing for the 'skins it sounded like he was leaning towards that.

Again, if i was a reporter your lame attempt at showing me up may have actually worked, when in fact i spent 3 seconds reading Evans heading back to Washington after not signing a contract here. oh how will i ever recover?

itlynstalyn i certainly hope your on a mission to hunt down those guys at realfootball365, they mentioned that we are beginning to look into acquiring TO, now we are not sure if it's absolute fact or not, but i think you should grill those guys at realfootball and the 49ers front office just to make sure that every little thing which can be posted on the internet is absolute 100% fact.

I don't think my attempt was "lame." I wasn't trying to show you up, either. I was proving a point, which is you stated something as fact, and then ARGUED about it afterward. You are completely wrong and should cut your losses and just admit it. The only reason you think I was "patrolling" your post is because I disagreed with you on something you were incorrect about.
