I always either buy him Cowboys, Mavericks, or video game stuff. I've also bought Bills, Packers and Titans stuff for friends/family. Get over it and stay on topic. Shopping is tough.
Oh, and he buys me Niner stuff all the time. So it is only fair.

If only the result of the Monday Night game this year turned out differently that may have been up there
Seems if everyone forgot about the 2003 Playoff game vs the giants 39-38

Didnt forget it. It just wouldn't make the top 10 especially since the 49ers got very lucky by the non-call on the obvious pass interference at the end of the game. Was a great game though.

1980 - Joe leads the Niners over the winless Saints in SF.
"The Saints, winless at the time, took a 35β7 lead at halftime. At the start of the fourth quarter, New Orleans still led by a score of 35β21, but San Francisco tied the game by the end of regulation play. In overtime, Ray Wersching kicked a field goal to win the game for San Francisco."
That was the beginning, my friends.
I was at that game and left at halftime! OUCH

That game was already mentioned. In fact, it was mentioned in my original post. But I suppose this is just another vote for that game.
Here's mine in no particular order.
1980- New Orleans vs SF at Candlestick. Then the biggest comback in NFL history. You can make a case that this was when the Dynasty Started.
1981- The Catch Game. Nuff Said.
1982- SB XVI. Great Game, especially the Goaline Stance
1989- 49ers @ Rams. Monday Night Thriller as Taylor plays out of his mind!
1989- 49ers @ Eagles. Classic Montana comeback
1989- SB XXIII. The Drive
1995- NFC Championship Game. Steve Young finally beats Dallas
1998- Jets vs Niners Home Opener. Hearst Run
1999-NFC Wild Card Game. The Catch II
2003-NFC Wild Card Game. Garcia's comeback
What sucks is that all of these games were from the DeBartolo Era. I'm sure there were a lot of good games during the Kezar and Dick Nolan days as well.

replace that one with one of the three super bowl you didn't mention (maybe XIX cos we played a really great football team compared to XXIV and XXIX) and i totally agree

I didn't include Super Bowl XXIV or XXIX because they weren't "Great" Games. they were absolute blowouts and the 9ers were expected to win. My definition of great games is that it close all the way through but the 9ers found a way to win. Although good point on SB XIX. Everybody thought Marino was going to torch the Niners, but it was the other way around.

This is actually a really good list. But you have to assume that all 5 Super Bowls would be included just like it was for the Cowboys. So that just leaves 5 open spots.

Best regular season game.
I may not have the facts straight, it was a long time ago.
1988 or 1989 against the Eagles in Philly. The Eagles dominated in the 1st half and were leading, by like 21 - 7 or something. They had sacked Joe about 6 times. In the 2nd half Joe goes off on them, throws 3 TDs and we win!!

I loved how in the '03 wildcard game against the giants, besides the 24 point comeback, on the 49ers first offensive play of the game TO took a quick slant and bounced off at least 3 giant defenders before sprinting for the end zone.

I believe that was the 1989 game mentioned above. That was a great game.

Unfortunately he'd be traded to Kansas City that off-season. I would later be routing for Steve Young but I was devastated. I couldn't even watch the '95 Superbowl, believe it or not. I still cringe when I watch the highlights with those god awful uniforms. I always believed Montana had two more Superbowls in him, but Steve Young's impatience blew that dream.
