Yeah because if Raye doesen't do a good job, Singeltary may be out in two years and we may be looking for a new OC and a new Head coach.

If Nolan can last 3 years Singletary can. If Jed York was smart he would hire someone above Singletary and McClueless. Then if give Sing one more year and if that doesn't work out let the Prez of Football Ops make his own choice.

Phillitup, i agree with you, except we badly needed a HOFO THIS yr. I haven't posted in a while, and the general tone of everything here is negatoid...unfortunately with good reason. Who knows with mike johnson and jimmy raye we probably have 2 guys who nobody will want to "steal" If that is what bigMIke was hiring for, well, he succeeded. Not having a HOFO has put this franchise back yet another 2-3 yrs before jed/yorks finally get it right. How can one owner get it wrong so consistently.
Jed was star struck by bigMIke, and just flat out pulled the trigger too soon. If ever a team needed a HOFO, it be us. New owner(jed), new HC with no background in OC, DC, RB, OL , WR, QB coaching, obscure OC, run of the mill DC, and a Qb coach that at best is off the radar. If this crew doesn't need a Head of Football Ops, nobody does. Scot is okay as GM, but he has showed me nothing as HOFO, mainly because he, like bigmike, just doesn't have the requisite experience.
It will be interesting to see what this leaderless franchise does this yr, but making the same mistakes over and over is probably what's coming. We can't expect much until that experienced guy ends up here. But how in the world do you explain that to an owner who has no idea what he doesn't know? We don't contend until we get experience where we need it most, and where we have to start:HOFO.

The guy is doing a great job! He is having all work on fundamentals and reps. Smith says its the most comfortable he's ever felt...We'll see what happens.
