Lot of bad defense is what is going on.

The Vikings were bailed out by penalty calls against GB 3 times in one drive. All on third down. Two of the calls appeared questionable.

We see this every week in at least one game. Defenses completely disappear in the last few minutes of games. It's almost like they forget what gave them a lead in the first place.

speculation naturally, but have to think a significant factor is the continuing diminishment of reps in preseason games - a lot of teams' units don't seem fully ready yet......and the owners just keep cranking the cash tills.

I 1000% agree with this. I think the new way of doing off seasons is bad for the quality of the sport. I think it hurts guys development. I think in some ways it doesn't prepare the body and increases the risk of injury. I understand it's hard work and guys dont enjoy going through it but I think it's better for them from a professional stand point.
