So how is he as a run defender? Is he just purely a pass rush guy? Thats fine if he is, im just trying to figure out how we will use him.

we need a pass rush guy regardless, especially all the guys around him now good at run blocking. I'm just happy we have a good vet in the room now. The youth made me a little nervous

We just drafted 3 new DL who excel at stopping the run.

Huff gets to be the pass rush specialist and our defense is better because of it.

Huff won't be asked to do anything involving run defense

Fans should be happy that we just got a dude in his prime that played outstanding pass rushing football in the exact system we run, for the exact dude we have as DC.

We are EASILY a much better defense after this move. Dude showed over a couple of seasons that in this system that he's a premier pass rusher. We needed this. Makes me feel so much better about our d line.

Which you doubling?
Bosa - Williams - west - huff

thats a nice pass rushing line right there.

This better not be for more than a 6th or 7th round draft pick. If it's a 4th rounder this front office should be blasted. This guy couldn't hardly get on the field for the Eagles. A late round pick or the Eagles can eat 16+ million.

He just wasn't a fit for the Eagles. And they had a ton of other talent which made it difficult for him to see the field. Do you even football?

Do you know trade value? He wasn't a fit for the Eagles which means they have less leverage. This isn't a player you give up a 4th round pick for. The Eagles are trying to move some money. Salary dump.

A younger Leonard Floyd replacement. Great move. Now go get a safety and another WR and we are set. I am assuming it's a 4th RD pick since the Niners are projected to have 3 of them.

This year and next I believe.
What I find interesting about this trade is that huff now understands that being in the right system and organization is very important to career success.

so it'll be interesting to see what kind of contract extension he wants, if he wants to be in a situation that he knows is a great fit for him.

i hope his injury on the wrist is healed up. He missed 5 weeks last year over it.

Well the report is "mid round pick". So who knows. Sounds like a 3-5th pick. My guess is a fifth. We may of been bidding against other teams.

we will see. Not a bad pick to get one of the best pass rushers just 2 years ago in this system.

Yes he played outstanding in a contract year. We've all seen that movie before. I don't hate it because we needed a pass rusher because we let Floyd go for no reason. They are the same kind of player would have cost us the same financially. Never understood them letting him walk. We didn't even save any cash
Rotational depth at DL is always good.

Huff is 27 (5 years younger than Floyd)

They thought they were going to get more from Floyd as a pass rusher. He had like 9 sacks but it didn't look like it by watching him every game. He was invisable for like 90% of every game.

He also played great the year before his contract year. So he isn't a one hit wonder. He went undrafted and had a couple of top tier pass rushing seasons and the. Got paid in free agency. The eagles system wasn't a fit and he got injured.

Huff has been on an absolute tear as a pass rusher over the past two seasons, recording pass-rush grades of 88.0 and 86.8 with pass-rush win rates of 25.6% and 22.9%. His run-defense grades remain poor, but he is very impactful as a pass-rush specialist.

Ofcourse the only two Niner creators who hate the move is Grant and Jessi lol.

Because Floyd was a disappointment for them. Yes even as a pass rusher. You are replacing a 32 year old(will be 33 when the season begins) with a 27 year old pass rusher.
