I believe he was adopted and raised by two blind parents. So I hope he made enough money over the years to support them and his current family. He wasn't the flashy type off the field, so he should be good.

Cutthroat league, trying to hide this by disciplining players for conduct issues when the league itself has conduct issues.
This is the American way SMH

If the punishment for breaking the rules is less than the gains from breaking the rules you are just guaranteeing more rules will be broken. It's true in sports, corporate america, schools, cities, and in neighborhoods.
If they broke the rules the NFL has to be SLAMMED or other CBA leagues will take similar liberties.
At the same time, because it's a CBA (and not multiple independent corporations) and the league has minority hiring rules I don't think the "sham interview" is a valid lawsuit issue. Walsh is the one who championed hiring minority coaches creating the minority coaching foundation 17 years before the NFL made the Rooney rule. The Rooney rule has been broken from day 1 and should be amended to at least allow teams to hire from within their current staff without doing any interviews if they want. I don't believe the NFL is racist (not that there are no racist people in the NFL), I believe the rule is poorly written.
The claim that players were to be targeted is also a CBA issue not a racism or legal issue.
The collusion between teams as alleged is definitely against the CBA so that is a legal issue for the league, but it's hard to prove unless someone was genuinely stupid.

I believe the league is racist, the league sort of admits this with the Rooney Rule. If the league wasn't racist you wouldn't need such a rule.
Thats just my 2 cents.

Some owners are questionable for sure, Brian Flores getting fired after having 2 successful seasons in Miami think Flores said he was bribed 100k for each game he looses in 2019. Then Bill Belichick accidentally texted him congratulating him on getting the Giants HC position when he hadn't even been interviewed yet. Turns out Bill meant to text Brian Daboll who did end up getting the job

The league created the rule to increase diversity at the top level ... wouldn't that be the opposite of racism?
The reality is that in the 1980s there were very few minority coaches at any level. Bill Walsh saw that, realized it was a problem, and realized the way to fix it was to start promoting and training minority coaches at every level. The NFL eventually responded to Walsh's efforts with the Rooney rule.
The Rooney rule is a bad rule not because it encourages minority hiring opportunities but because it requires sham interviews.
A third of the head coaches in the NFL are minorities, half of the coaches in the NFL were coaching before the Rooney rule. It takes time for diversity to spread since they need the encouragement to go from playing to coaching. And players are paid a lot more now so they are maybe less likely to want to go into coaching at the end of their careers.
I think the NFL is generally making positive progress in their minority coaching progress.

Absolutely there are some questionable owners ... I said that. That doesn't mean the league is. And to be fair Miami hired a minority to replace Flores.
Belichick revealing the sham interviews is not racism, it's yet another reveal of the Rooney rules flaws. It doesn't say the interview has to be sincere. I remember Ray Rhodes saying he was straight told he was being interviewed because they had to interview a minority before they hired the guy they planned to hire and he said he did it anyway because he figured practicing the interview process was worth the experience for him.
I don't think they broke the law and it's not clear if they broke the rule or the spirit of the rule yet. Walsh's foundation (which was taken over by the NFL long ago) has done a LOT more for minority coaching than the Rooney rule ever has.

I mean I wasn't even talking to you, I'm not saying the they are racist but it definitely raises flags when you fire a coach that turned your franchise around. Then the gaints already make up their mind before even give Flores a chance to interview. Even the legal system sees merit in his accusations that's why it's going to court

Yeah, I have no issue in the attempt, I just think some parts of it are unlikely to succeed.
My point about the interview process is that the rule doesn't require the interviews to be equal, it just requires an interview to happen.
Bribery and collusion are potential legal issues, so it makes sense on that front to let it go to trial. I think denying a trial is a fairly high legal bar to clear.

Doesn't that almost make it worse? That the Rooney rule is kind of "pleasantry" or a way for owners to cover their asses only hiring white coaches? It's pretty damning that the giants got caught already making up their mind without giving Flores a chance when he has a better track record and accolades than Daboll. Thrown in the fact the Giants have never hired a minority.
In the end you hire who is the best coach your shouldn't be forced to hire a minority but in the Giants case they got caught red handed not even giving Flores a chance

The rule has been a formality in a lot of hiring and it's been clear for a long time. I don't pay that close of attention to the Giants ... they do have 8ish black assistant coaches. The reasons someone prefers one person over another doesn't always have to be record. Basically the Giants wanted to focus on offense and Daboll had been the OC on a top offense. Flores is a defensive coach. The problem is they screwed up in choosing Flores because he didn't want to play the game.
The NFL realized the Rooney rule wasn't really working so they've added more positions, more interviews, and more bonuses to the process. Now teams losing minority coaches/execs can get comp picks, and teams developing minority coaches/execs can get some bonuses (I don't remember what). Those changes are pretty new IIRC.
But still, IIRC there is no requirement for the interview to be before a final decision is taken on the position.
As to Flores' claim that the Dolphins fired him for racist reasons ... performance isn't the only reason to fire someone. Have you seen Moneyball? The manager in that movie won a lot but absolutely deserved to be fired for refusing to go with the plan. Supposedly the Dolphins owner (and presumably GM) wanted the team to tank and Flores refused ... that's reason enough to fire someone.
I think the NFL is racist argument is really hollow. I do think they are risk averse and have a long history of hiring lesser people for jobs because they are safe. It's not the NFL but Mark Jackson earned his way out of the job with the Warriors, and I'm surprised nobody else hired him, and it's almost certainly because the Warriors let out how much of a problem he was to them. Meanwhile Doc Rivers has had job after job after job after job even though he sucks as a coach. :)

When you have to explain or defend a group of folks this much to prove that an organization isn't racist, it usually means that they are indeed racist. LOL

I don't think you know what the word means then.
