In defense of Jed, there was no smoke until 2 years in, and even then, we are a top-4 team so there was no reason to look at Baalke in that way until year 5.
Jacksonville is different because Baalke started off with his Tomsula like hire. And we had far more talent than the Jags so even if we got the hire wrong in 2011, we wouldn't have been that bad.
