Judging from his performance in his first preseason game and the reports from writers and fans. It appears that he's lost.
You dont have to take it personal. It's just a football team and I'm assuming you have no relation to Trey. Freeman had outstanding measurables and checked all the boxes, he just couldn't put it together, it's not a bad comp.
Lol what a stupid post.
Is there a single person in the media who's watching Lance day-in-day-out that says he's lost?
All I've heard and read is that he's either better than Jimmy already or Jimmy's still better because of situational football. 8 year vet vs 21 year old with 4 months on the team.

You should really just find out where Mac lives and try to bed down with him.
Did you hear one time Mac Jones threw for like 100+ yards against the eagles 4th string D in a preseason game? One one play he moved up in the pocket and completed a 7 yard pass. YouTube it if you don't believe me

The.minute Kyle wanted Lance to score a TD he did. On cur and on the money. If Kyle can scheme up Mullens to look functional then any hand wringing regarding Lance is just silly.
We're playing the long long game and people are already outta patience by preseason week 2 lol.

Lance is mega raw obviously. Barely over a season of college ball. We shouldn't act surprised that he needs work. I expect Jimmy to start all year if he's healthy. Next year the decisions get tougher with money being a big issue.

JC Penney is coming to New England because of Mac Jones. You ask anybody, they'll tell you

In my opinion, I have always stated that Lance is like a more accurate Cam Newton. Also, does the narrative change if 3 to 4 drops by receivers didn't occur? Then his numbers would be pretty accurate as well? Maybe some of you people didn't even watch the first preseason game when he was getting bum rushed every single time and had multiple drops.
Anyways, with his running ability alone he should eventually make us at the minimum a perennial playoff team and with the improved weapons on offense (and Shanahan's scheming) we should be top 5 or close to it every year.

Cam Newton is as thick as a LB. I just don't see the comparison there. Im hoping Lance is a great passer who can run well when all else fails, not just a good passer who runs through defenses regularly.

I agree Cam is thicker, but Trey is plenty big enough, is faster and more elusive than Cam ever was. That's just talking about his running ability.
Trey's footwork and arm talent give him the base to be an extremely good passer. Yes he needs to be consistent with his mechanics but the platform is there.
I'm not worried about any issues reading the field, diagnosing coverage or blitzes. He's clearly smart, has a smarter Head Coach, and will fix those issues in the film room.
