Assuming Brock is 100% healthy at the start of the regular season, I think Kyle will get Trey on the field in the regular season with certain packages. I think thats why they drafted all those TEs and hybrid undrafted players. A three tight end *passing* offense with Lance (vs Purdy) in short yardage and goal line situation will be (i think) something teams will have a huge headache in preparing for.
This is the Taysom Hill scenario (again assuming Brock is 100% healthy) at the start of the NFL season. Taysom did well behind Brees, but the next head coach changed Tasyom's career trajectory to TE despite going 4-1 as a starting QB after Brees retired. This keeps Trey's head in the game and offers him actual in-game reps to develop. They can also tell his evolving proficiency in Kyles passing offense by actually comparing him to Brock in actual game and similar playcall scenarios.
