There are fifteen teams that wished they had Jimmy the last five years. He may not be some QB Adonis, but he's a marked improvement over the tier below him.

Anyways no big deal, he hit the throw. I'm not trying to bring down Trey I'm just pointing out facts. Trey hit a good throw so all credit to him.
Definition of a touch pass. Dropped it in a spot that made it a safe catch and run for the WR. There was a 5 yard pocket. It wasn't a rocket throw outside of the numbers.
The target area need not be small by your own definition (often). The point is that it has high arc and floats to the right spot.

"A touch pass in football refers to a forward pass from the quarterback that travels at a slow speed and usually has a high arching flight path. In other words, this pass will travel high and slowly towards the intended receiver."
This definition is more accurate and explanatory than yours.
Agree to disagree. I still maintain that it was throwing to an open spot, which he executed perfectly but it wasn't a touch pass. I reiterate that's not a hit on Trey. He did exactly as he supposed to and hit the open spot. It's a good throw but it was into a 5+ yard window, which during release there wasn't a man for at least 12 yards. Anyways this is not a big deal as I do think Lance has exhibited touch as I've pointed out just not here.
Screen passes require touch, and that condition has nothing to do with placing the ball in a tiny whole.
From BILL WALSH:
"Arm strength is somewhat misleading. Some players can throw 80 yards, but they aren't good passers. Good passing has to do with accuracy, timing, and throwing a ball with touch so it is catchable."
Throwing with touch means light, arcing passes. Nice, feathery, catchable balls.
K. Agree to disagree. I'm over this conversation. I've said Trey has displayed touch.
I'll have to disagree on agreeing. You can't just make up term definitions that are in conflict with known terms. Then you'll have people talking about "red light" in order to excuse why a wide open pass wasn't throw.
It was literally the definition of a touch pass. Not sure why this is even a debate.
Based on what?
Touch passes in football are most often used when trying to hit a receiver for an over the shoulder catch. These passes require finesse and can easily be intercepted if thrown at the wrong time.

Dude it's clear you didn't know what a touch pass meant until today. Again, the same reason you thought Steve Young had the weakest arm in NFL history. Because you were never a football fan until your family member or friend of the family Jimmy was drafted.
And before you get mad at this assumption, I wasn't the one sending racist and homophobic rants via sock puppet accounts in PMs.
Lol you've said this twice now... Wtf are you talking about? The only thing I've said about Young is how much you guys would've hated him if he was out current QB.
And what a garbage thing to accuse me of. As I said it's personal with you. So personal you literally have make up disgusting diatribe about me because I like Jimmy Pretty gross bro. Pretty low.

Incorrect. My main concern with you the last few days is your made up touch definition. Generally speaking, when it comes to your publicly stated position on Jimmy's quality as a QB (if I correctly recall what that is), I think I'm actually fairly close to you. I ranked him originally between 13 and 20, but upon learning some things about what matters for quarterbacks, he rose up on my list and sits at about 12.
My only "problem" with him is that he's nevertheless paid more than he's worth, in light of the fact that (1) we have Trey Lance and (2) the gap between 8 and 12 is tremendous, while the gap between 12 and 18 is not.
We may well drop in QB production in 2022 by moving on from Jimmy. But it will still be a net gain because I believe this experience Trey would get would make him better than Jimmy on the final two years of his four year rookie deal—meaning he'd be significantly cheaper; and because IF the QB level goes down, it won't go down significantly.

Maybe, but having a better QB isn't always a good thing if that QB is still just in the 12-18 range. We would have had a harder road to becoming a contender if Jimmy had stayed healthy in 2018 and taken us to a 9-7 record.

You can say the same thing about the coach. A mediocre coach will bring you years of misery. A s**tty coach gets fired after 1 season.

But it will still be a net gain because I believe this experience Trey would get would make him better than Jimmy on the final two years of his four year rookie deal—meaning he'd be significantly cheaper; and because IF the QB level goes down, it won't go down significantly.
Once a liar, always a liar.

Got any proof I'm a "liar?" Jimmy is literally ranked 11th on my first iteration of my QB rating and 12th on my second. It's not your support of Jimmy. Unlike most people here, I adjusted my ranking of him based on evidence which I painstakingly investigated and analyzed.
My issue with Jose the last week wasn't his support of Jimmy: it was his factually incorrect claims about Trey (one, that his pass to Kittle was "six yards," which proved he didn't even watch the game, and his claim Trey couldn't throw with touch—which for him was again from not watching Trey).

It's a good throw but it was into a 5 yard window, which during release there wasn't a man for at least 12 yards.
"can be intercepted"

"BY DEFINITION GUYS"
Pretty low.
I deleted that. And actually it's because I genuinely believe you are the guy that made fifty burner accounts a couple months ago.
No... You did that because I support Jimmy. Nothing more. Own it.

That's not a lie, that's a genuine belief. If I'm wrong that just means I'm wrong. You joined at about the same time as I got those PMs, and your dedication to Jimmy is as strong. But it's 100% possible I'm wrong, and if so I apologize.
