I personally am not worried at all as I want the best QB. The only ones worried, like petrified, are the ones afraid of a little competition. Their lack of real faith in Trey is on full display.

I really don't see it being much of a competition since Trey will be getting all of the 1st team reps going into pre season. The offense installed during OTA's and training camp will lean more toward Trey's strengths. By the time Jimmy is ready to compete, it may be too late for him to even push for the starting job. My only worry is paying a back up $25.5 million dollars to sit on the bench when that money could be used to improve the team.

There is no competition. Will be cut ASAP

Yes. That is what I believe also but I figured I would entertain the idea anyway.

Totally agreed. And with this team, it's always good to explore every option because you never know around these parts.

This. I can't believe there are still people holding out hope for a QB competition. Jimmy remaining on the roster is nothing more than a technicality at this point.

It could be a case of people being afraid of the unknown. They're comfortable with average because its enough to win games with a stacked roster. Trey is still a pretty big unknown even though the reports have been very positive. Some people just cannot handle change.

If a team wanted Jimmy they would have traded for him. Period. You had teams signing guys coming off ACLs and a QB getting $230M FGTD even though he has 22 sexual assault allegations.

I said MULTIPLE times in the Jimmy trade thread that I thought he had a market, that he is a startable NFL QB, and a upgrade for a couple teams….I defended Jimmy in that sense and had arguments with plenty of people in here about it.

After all that I have a couple posters in here making up b******t acting like they know who I am (not you). I've never even spoken to this SmokeyJoe dude and he's all of a sudden got something to say, acting like he knows me lol. f**k that s**t.

I commented on something you said, not something personal. You're unhinged. I don't know you, nor do I care to.

Yeah but you have to accept change if you want to evolve. Even if it comes with risk. We were never going to get better with Jimmy G, No matter how much you stack the roster. Sure we could miss with Trey. But If we hit with him, This team is a top SB contender for the next decade. Also for the ones who say we could have taken an impact player at 12 instead of trading up for a QB, We would still have Jimmy G as our QB which would have still prevented us from taking that next step. And we had to grab our franchise QB in that draft because the chances of drafting that high again was slim. Sure we could have gone after Brady but that's just a short term fix and it doesn't guarantee you a SB.

Most people dismiss the Mahomes comparison for Lance because Mahomes's first season starting was one of the top-5 best seasons of all time for a QB. The hope is that Lance can be better than Jimmy with largely the same roster as last year, and ideally improving as the season goes on and the number of reps under his belt starts to grow. But what if we're in for an all-time season like 2018 Mahomes? It's wishful thinking, but it's at least a possibility.

I don't care what you have to say in here…you come out of right field acting like you know me and twist s**t around for no good reason…one thing we can agree upon is I don't care to know you either. Move along

You are preaching to the choir, homie.

yeah people for the most part don't want a $27M backup on the books negating any benefit of a rookie contract….Not afraid of competition.

Disagree. If this were the case than the FO would be 100% behind Trey not constantly leaving the door open for Jimmy since exit interviews. I understand the conspiracy that they are trying to get more from Jimmy but it's a terrible conspiracy as I've pointed out.

For example if I am selling a truck and that truck is in the shop for a bad transmission (shoulder) me leaving the door open that I might keep it doesn't affect the price one but. Not one iota. It's a terrible terrible conspiracy. It's reaching for anything at all to keep people from the idea that the other guy might be back. It's fear. It terrifies them. Regardless what's best

Again. I use actually quotes from the FO, others are flat out calling Lynch, Shanny, and York... all 3... Liars.
