It's an assumption based on very limited information.

It could be that the league thinks he's trash and not worth trading for. It could be because he's injured and won't be ready for camp. It could be because the Niners value him higher than any offers they received.

Niners couldn't have been more clear on what they value Jimmy at. -3 1st round draft picks.

Hurt QB not able to throw for months on last year of contract. More to it that league doesn't think he's good. He and Mayfield in exact same situation.

Ya both are just average QBs that don't have a lot of value.
This is the Trey Lance thread, right? I am pretty sure we have two threads already for Jimmy Garoppolo. Do we really need a third?

No you're doing f**king exactly that. Not sure how much clear it can be…Jimmy is trash, the league has spoken. Meaning no one wants him. I then said get him off the roster & let's move on.

If you taking that as something else that's your own damn fault

Dude you are completely wrong by saying the league didn't want him and has spoken. Even Lynch/Shanahan said the discussions and compensation talks were going very well and progressing until Jimmy announced he had to have shoulder surgery. It's not that hard to understand stop saying that, it's disingenuous. If he didn't have to have shoulder surgery he would've been traded. Plain and simple, nobody wanted a quarterback that can't even throw for four months. Come on man

Yeah people are going to remain ignorant even though that statement was said by our front office when they were interviewed this week. At least they could've said Jimmy Garoppolo being injured and just having surgery might not be worth the money and the draft compensation but they have to acknowledge he would have been traded if healthy because that's the way the talks were going. Baker Mayfield is a little different because his non-throwing shoulder was injured and he has the worst attitude.

What if Russell Wilson had that surgery? Think he'd have been traded? There's still a mystery on exactly when Watson will be able to play. Didn't matter in the least. If any top end QB were in that situation, he'd have been traded. Plain and simple.
Jimmy G is so amazing, he has 3 threads in the 49ers forum

That doesn't change the fact that Jimmy would've been traded if he was healthy. Of course better players are going to be traded when they're injured because they're better. I guess common sense is thrown right out the window it did in fact matter, plain and simple. Jimmy was seen as a much better quarterback than the ones we saw get traded for or signed it's just that he was injured. (Wentz Tribusky Winston Mariota and company)The Colts have even said as much with his inability to throw and develop chemistry with their wrs. I guess you must've missed the memo

Anyways back to Trey, I am absolutely sure he will be able to throw 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions

That would be your job, otherwise your comment will be taken as it is, at face value.

If you told me you think that I hate Lance, it would be on you to provide evidence to support the claim, not on me to prove otherwise. I'll support my own statements.

If you're gonna run your mouth about who you think I am and what I talk about in here then f**k yes. If not shut your mouth and move on…lol read your last statement and think about it. Done with dumbness.

If a team wanted Jimmy they would have traded for him. Period. You had teams signing guys coming off ACLs and a QB getting $230M FGTD even though he has 22 sexual assault allegations.

I said MULTIPLE times in the Jimmy trade thread that I thought he had a market, that he is a startable NFL QB, and a upgrade for a couple teams….I defended Jimmy in that sense and had arguments with plenty of people in here about it.

After all that I have a couple posters in here making up b******t acting like they know who I am (not you). I've never even spoken to this SmokeyJoe dude and he's all of a sudden got something to say, acting like he knows me lol. f**k that s**t.

Mayfield has $18M GTD. Jimmy doesn't that plays a part too

Of course. It's an equation. People pontificating on either side sound stupid. I said it ages ago. If a top tier QB is both injured and available, unless his injury is career ending / threatening, he is getting signed somewhere. Guaranteed. The idea JG would have gotten traded / signed if not injured, is certainly probable. But to say it is guaranteed is f**king laughable. The NFL has shown what JG's value is. He's just not worth that much. And by worth, of course I am considering the totality of it all (injury, play, contract, etc.).

In the end, my hope is JG is not being kept due to issues the coaching staff sees with Trey. I want Trey to start, not solely because I think JG is average, but because I want to see what the 49ers have in Trey. The kid needs real reps to work off the rust, but also to demonstrate he was worth the cost. Or, to prove he wasn't. Either way, the team needs an answer sooner rather than later.

It makes you wonder what everyone is even worried about. Everything with Lance has pretty much gone according to the FO's plan so far. The only hiccup is Jimmy's shoulder injury preventing us from trading him, but that'll soon be rectified.

Agreed

Yup. Shanahan has expressed his confidence in Trey Lance. Some folks just refuse to read between the lines. Or they like to build shaky conspiracy theories with their so called "wiggle room" for interpretation.
