Hope this doesn't effect his "time the ball spends in the air" stat

It's pretty pathetic to be so damn giddy that a player on the team you supposedly root for suffered an injury. Luckily, it doesn't appear that he'll miss any time.

Very pathetic. I'm pretty a few of these posters aren't even 49er fans. Some of the stuff they post is what I'd be saying about the Cowboys or Seahawks.

So funny that bamaniner is constantly talking s**t about the level of competition Trey played in when the fcs has produced more quality starting qbs than the hands down premier program in college football in Alabama. They can't even produce a guy that can win a starting job let alone be a quality starter. Jury's still out on mac obviously . Everyone knew he'd be the most nfl ready in the class but can he do anymore than game manage?? Certainly has zero special traits whatsoever.

Alabama qbs you'd think a program like Alabama could produce Atleast 1 decent qb
-Mac ?
-Tua-not very good and injury prone. Dolphins spend a #5 overall and there's already tons of chatter they'll move on. Not a good look.
-mccaron trash
-McElroy-trash

FCS
-Lance???
-Wentz- 3rd in mvp voting, quality starter injury prone
-Garappolo-quality starter. Super bowl qb
-Joe Flacco-quality starter super bowl mvp
-Tony Romo-far better than quality starters
-Ryan Fitzpatrick-10-12 year career
-Steve McNair-nfl mvp super bowl mvp
-Kurt Warner- hall of famer

Long story short ndsu and eastern Illinois can produce better qbs than Alabama.

It's pretty obvious by now Bama is just a patriots fan pretending to be a niner fan

If you put two and two together it is obviously Bill B.

You still on for that bet where you say JG won't be here next year given Trey is turning out to be injury prone? lol

Also, Treys first start is better than ALL THE ROOKIE QBs first starts. Including Mac Jones. Plus, Trey was playing again the 4-0 Cardinals without Mostert and Kittle. Maybe we can watch Mac Jones struggle against the Texans or get annihilated against the Saints. Well hey, at least he helped beat the JETS with Wilson at qb. What an accomplishment throwing all those short passes

And possibly the worst OL play A team could ask for.
Kyle seriously needs to figure this injury s**t out. It's way past coincidence by now. They are too soft on these guys in practice and aren't learning things the correct way. Lance sacrificed himself on that goal line play and that's on him if that's where he git hurt but everything else has been pretty flukey
No fumbles. That's positive. Expecting him to lose at least one with all that running

The same bad Oline Jimmy plays behind but he gets no credit from the people who give Trey credit here lol

Kap couldn't throw from the pocket. Lance can and he runs as a last resort. kap was the antithesis of that

I don't know how you can conclude at this point that a) Lance can throw well from the pocket, or b) that he only runs as a last resort. Those are open questions to me. He was running a hell of a lot, by choice, yesterday, and his pocket passing is a pretty mixed bag. He has some of the Kap issues. He looks better put together than Kap, and it sounds like he's a more serious student of the game, so he doesn't need to suffer the same fate as Kap. I have faith that he will improve. He seems like a high character guy who is going to put in the work. But I do agree with the earlier post that it could get worse for him before it gets better and I still think this team should make a playoff run despite this slide. Gotta go with Jimmy this year and give Trey some work along the way.

because I watched both of his games..... the dude is always keeping his eyes downfield. go watch jonny's breakdown of him from last week.

I too have eyes and watched the game. I saw a young guy looking to run a lot and a coach who seemingly endorsed the tactic by calling many designed runs right up the middle as though we were playing Towson State. And now we learn that he hurt his knee as the team's leading rusher. But other than that, sure, last resort.

then you aren't watching close or paying attention enough. when he ran, it was either by design or when he was flushed, but he kept his eyes downfield

AGAIN, go watch jonny's breakdown. its one of the important positive takeaways from lance

I think you can have your head up and your eyes down the field and it doesn't necessarily translate into an off-script play that gashes the defense. When Russell Wilson is running around with his head up I get nervous as a Niners fan. I have yet to feel confidence when Lance is flushed that he going to buy that time, find that open receiver, and punish the defense. But it's way early days with a super small sample size. Is he going to be the Mahomes or Wilson type of guy where those broken pockets are a weapon, or is he going to be the guy with the head up, eyes down the field, throwing an inaccurate rifle shot into a crowd of defenders. We shall see.

eyes downfield is the antithesis of Kap and what he prioritized here.

instead of repeating myself, here

ill be sure to find you and directly PM you jonny's next release for your sake

I've seen the video. For my sake? Like I need to see a video that breaks down the minutiae of every play with all sorts of diagrams to know if Lance is seeing the defense and getting it done? I think it will be manifest when Lance is consistently moving the chains, finding and hitting the open receivers, hurting the defense when he breaks containment. It's too early to make any assessments on him. I just don't think he looks like he gives us a better chance than Jimmy yet. If we get eliminated from contention early I'd like to see him get playing time.
no,
your original take was made in comparison to Kap with "Kap issues", of which I pushed back on

so yes, for your sake. there's more reasons to be hopeful about with Trey than there ever were with Kap.

not talking about Jimmy. Jimmy's irrelevant here.

This probably isn't true but this went through my mind —— Do you think Shanahan really did want Mac all along and the rumors were true he was talked/forced into Lance? And now Shanahan is like screw it, I'll run this terrible game plan? Almost child like behavior?

That's laughably absurd. It's much more likely that the plan was for Trey to be used in situations, with plays like the ones he ran all game, and the 49ers simply ran most of those plays because that's what Trey had been practicing all year.

LMAO It is all the Trey Should Start Now Diehards who are sounding desperate as their dream is falling apart now he is shown to be mortal and injured. New Flash - He ain't ready to start and wont be against the Colts
The truth is he needs to play to be ready to start next year, which is pretty much inevitable. What doesn't make sense is that ShanaLynch knew he wouldn't be ready immediately and would need lots of seasoning yet still drafted him while our team is in the midst of a competitive window. Unfortunately the best way to get better as a team is to suck it up this season, actually draw up good game plans to help him grow and succeed and hope he makes strides quickly, but even if he doesn't there isn't much we can do--this is the decision both Shanahan and Lynch are betting their careers on. I am encouraged by the small sample size honestly--Shanahan is the one holding him back

4 passes batted at or behind the line and 3 drops made it look way worse than it was. Outside of the INT, no Cards DB got a hand on any of Trey's passes.
