Go, Trey, go!
The above videos are auto-populated by an affiliate.
The hated Grant Cohn on Trey's first start:

"A lot of the Jimmy Garoppolo fans are like, "ALL RIGHT, LET'S SEE WHAT TREY'S GOT!" (in a skeptical tone) "And if it's anything less than great they're gonna be all over him, and I think it's important to remember that Jimmy and Trey aren't necessarily graded on the same scale. Trey is a rookie, and the assumption is that Trey will improve, the reason people get on Jimmy is that he hasn't improved and he's not a rookie. So I think it's important to remember, cause a lot of people if Trey struggles, are gonna say, 'Well why aren't you hard on him like you are on Jimmy G.' well, there's a different context. "

Seems legit.

Apparently he was tracked with a GPS tracker on a run during one of his last games:

Lance said he was wearing a GPS tracker, and it clocked him running at 21.54 mph on that run Next Gen Stats says that run would've ranked 12th among all ball carries, and first among quarterbacks last season.

Daniel Jones, he of the 4.81 40 time was clocked at 21.23 mph. Are you going to argue that Daniel Jones is more explosive than Lamar Jackson? Of course not.

Huge difference between someone with long legs who can run fast after building up for 20 yards and someone who is explosive right off the blocks. Trey is athletic but he's not Kyler, Lamar or Russell athletic.

Honestly Dak Prescott might be the best comp for Lance in terms of athleticism and Dak certainly isn't any kind of slouch when it comes to his mobility. if you go back and watch videos of him when he was at Mississippi State and then compare them to videos of Lance at NDSU, you'll see very similar running styles, very similar bursts. Physical runners that were tremendous in short yardage situations but weren't massive running threats like Lamar or Kyler.

I see Josh Allen

Again I agree with you he doesn't have the elusiveness those guys, but he is just as fast as Russell Wilson period. There is objective proof of this all over the place. Russ ran a 4.55 at the combine when he was in his 20s with a slower mph than treys ever hit. Trey was clocked consistently in the kid 4:5s with a higher mph. So at worst Trey and Wilson run pretty identical times. Again Russ isn't 20 anymore. All of this said the guy is one of the most slippery humans of all time. Very frustrating being a niner fan and seeing a bomb coming from a mile away right after an almost sack.

Don't dream big because you will just be disappointed.

But I'm telling you, Sudfeld is going to get reps in this game Sunday.

Go Lance!

🤓

NO WAY Sudfeld gets on the field. Not going to happen. Have you ever seen him play???

I legitimately don't understand why fans keep treating Jimmy like a rookie when hes almost 30.

You know when he threw that interception last week, I feel as if fans just stopped caring. Usually the game day threads would blow up with rage, now nobody even cares anymore.

As to his speed, Trey says he was clocked at 4.40. He resembles a slightly smaller Derrick Henry!

He will if Trey gets hurt, assuming Jimmy is deactivated.

Trey not gonna do anything he didnt do last week or preseason. He'll hit a bomb, underthrown just like Jimmy. Hell feel more comfortable running the ball. So he'll help us as #2 back with off schedule ground yards.

Until

Trey will keep the starting job if he manages the game well, doesn't turn it over and puts us in a position to win the game at the end. Otherwise, Jimmy will be starting again after the bye.
i liked what i saw last week i think he will be great

The Cardinal DC has a full half game of tape on trey.

It will only get harder.

A 21 year old with 300 snaps experience should not be starting at the NFL level at the hardest position to execute in sports. every piece of tape on trey says the same thing. Yet, because Kyle hates jimmy for ruining his crystal palace game ideas, here we are. Completely preventable and avoidable with proper planning and foresight.

Our "qb 3" should be starting, with trey running the same situational packages that kyle has planned out since training camp.

But because our front office goofed, we don't have that option on the table.

Truth is, drafting the highest ceiling, least ready, youngest qb in the draft is a labor of love.

It needs to be planned for, and the player developed properly.

otherwise it turns into a windshield bug splat.

Hope it doesn't work out that way, but wouldn't be surprised if it does.

When you expend so much draft capital on a QB he must see the field ASAP. He will make mistakes as all rookie QB's do. If he fouls up Lynch and Shanahan will experience the hot seat as losses mount.

Rushing him kills the chance to fix bad mechanics. I know why we are starting him, I just wish we didn't have to.

Honestly, I disagree with your first premise. We don't gotta do anything besides what's best for this season, the players on this roster. Once we're out of it, we can think about getting trey snaps. That's not this week.
