But lack of experience is STILL being used as an excuse in the other thread. It's ridiculous that you are attempting to make this point after 30 career snaps. Yeah we invested a lot in him. We invested a lot in our other QB too, and the excuses are still flowing in his 8th year in the league.

We all want Trey to be great. Calling out posters for talking about his age after playing half of a game is pretty silly.

They didn't invest three first round picks in the other guy. When you make that investment, you expect a big return and they made it because they wanted something better than the other guy. For this year I think Lance, regardless of how he plays, is going to be given a pass by just about everyone but coming next season, he'll be fully expected to perform to at least the level of those other QB's in his draft class and if he isn't, no one will care about how old he is or how much he did or did not play in college.

Abysmal mechanics. And probably the wrong read. Look at Aiyuk.

his mechanics look like theyve gotten worse since his pro day

Ya but it's not that uncommon for QBs to change their mechanics when they get to the NFL but look horrible at times bc they aren't used to it yet.

When it comes to Lance it was always supposed to be about next year, so Im definitely not one of these idiots are already calling him a bust or awful.

Investing the money we did in Jimmy is a huge investment too. And yes, I get how much we invested in Lance. We all want a big return. He will definitely have expectations next season. I just wish there was more consistency in QB evaluation on this board.

And Lance performed better in his first half of play than any rookie QB did in theirs. So yeah so far, he is ahead of all of them.

LOL. Is that the first time all year Kyle ran out 5 receiving options? Ironic.

He was thrown In against the Seahawks with little preparation because the starting QB got Injured. It'll be Interesting to see how he performs with a full week to prepare for his opponent whilst taking all the reps with the first team.

No way in hell we stand a chance against the Cardinals with Lance under center.
Is it just me or is his running ability not that great. He doesn't seem very strong and he gets tackled on the initial hit. He doesn't seem fast or elusive like Murray and Jackson.
Some of you calling this dude a bust in his first half a game are ridiculous. Alex Smith started his career with a 1/11 TD/INT ratio and still ended up becoming a decent starter. It's not even close to the same with Lance. I don't even think this dude has thrown a pick yet and he looked great dodging would be sacks yesterday. He's gonna learn. He didn't get a whole week of game planning installed for his skill set, he went in at the half after pretending to be Wilson all week on the scout team. If you can't see that this dude has talent then I don't know what to tell you. Did you think he was going to come in and look like Tom Brady? Get real with the expectations. So much whining

He is playing just like a young guy who has played very little football in the past two years. Before the draft, analysts were saying he was the LEAST pro-ready of all the top 5 rookies coming out. The speculation, therefore, was that he had a very high ceiling. Another way to say that is that his current floor is pretty low. Yesterday he showed that to be the case. He is what they all said he was.

The biggest issue now is that this team was billed as a Super Bowl contender. Now, with him not being yet ready to play at that level, it is likely to be a frustrating and disappointing season the balance of the way.

FWIW Does anyone truly think his throwing mechanics are a finished product at 21 with one full season of college football? Kid seems like a workaholic on everything QB, so I imagine he will put the time into it in the off season.

He's a pup and people need to understand this.

Yes,...20-40 yards there are no qualms with his mechanics.

10 or so yards in he will add to his arsenal,...not change his entire mechanics of how he throws the ball,...lol.

I'd imagine he will add a quicker, short angled release like a # of successful QBs have done but yea, offseason. So no surprises at all that a kid with only 1 full season of CFB @ 21 is an unfinished product and if anything, that's what made him attractive to Shanahan.

He's 6'5" 230 pounds. He's athletic for his size but those other two midgets have quickness and speed. Waterbugs.

What game did you watch? Did you not see him moving in the pocket?
