Debatable since it's hard to win in football off of 1 good calf muscle,... but it's all water under a bridge right now and Trey will most likely start the next game.

It also prevents him from getting the ball out quicker which can be the difference between a completion and an INT. I'm guessing it's something they'll address it the off season. He throws like a pitcher winding up instead of a catcher making a quick throw to 2nd base.

Yeah, he needs to shorten that release be more like a shortstop rather than a pitcher.
Was I seeing things or did every pass look wobbly?
He threw some knuckle balls yesterday. I wonder if the finger is a thing?

He hates Shanahan. He literally puts that in every other post.

Oh I know he does...he still wants Chris Petersen as the HC

what's funnier is that you still think Shanny's a good coach..

That was a good one.
Did most of his passes look wobbly to you?
It is something I didn't notice in preseason.

Yes it is, that is how the cap and contracts are structured. This is the best Lynch has to give.

If they are a losing team this year and next, do you think Shanalynch are here to finish the rebuild?

The best he has to give is a bunch of vet min contracts and cheap one yr deals for guys that have a history of injuries (who are wait for it injured). This isn't a SB caliber team IMO. They don't have the depth for it.

Why does it have to be a rebuild or a great team? It's never in-between like more than half of the teams in the league...They get to push in MORE cash into legit good starting vets when Jimmy is off the books in 2021. There's guys like Ebukam/Gould that are doing next to nothing eating up cap space...they can take a hike next yr and apply that cash to something that matters. AA's deal has a 6th yr that specifically made to lower the cap as well, I'll bet money that gets used in the next yr or so.

I think Lynch/Shanny will have 3 yrs to develop their rookie QB, Jed wouldn't have signed off on the deal if he didn't get them that.... if anyone get's let go in that time period it's Lynch who's responsible for the 90 man roster/draft/FA

Do you remember when they tied the string around Rocky's feet to help his balance and then tied his left arm down to force him to use his right. They need to do something like that with Trey.

Set up a table that's just above his waist and have him drop back next to it. When he tries to throw his arm will hit that table. Eventually he'll quit dropping his arm so low. I don't know if they would do something like that but it might work. Like you said , players revert back during the heat of the battle so it has to be burned into them.

Hitters can learn to change their swing with enough reps so it's something Trey should be able to do.

His delivery isn't very long...you're just use to seeing Jimmy. Go look around the league, his delivery isn't that bad at all. Can he tighten some stuff up no doubt.

His velocity makes up for any issues of getting the ball out late. Kap throws like a pitcher, Lance most certainly does not...

Trey is in a great position to get some starting experience if Jimmy is out for just a few weeks

Best case, Trey looks great and we ride with him to the end of the season.

If he's struggling then we pull him and put jimmy back in when he's healthy again and roll with the "plan was always for Jimmy to start again" excuse. Neither Jimmy nor Trey gets their egos hurt that way and we can build off of whatever his performance was and have him ready for next season.

Seems almost, calculated.

I think there would be an overhaul of the strength and conditioning and trainer staff, as well as maybe some of the scouting department before Lynch's seat gets hot. And like you said, Kyle will be around at least 3 year more years to see how Trey develops. Jed signed these guys to an initial 6 year deal and extended them recently for another 6 years. This will be a long process.

Yeah, they need to make it a priority this offseason to work on that release. It will help him a lot.
