On the road against a 4-0 team.

I get that if we'll lose it'll suck to drop to 2-3. But honestly, is anyone expecting us to win? The pressure might not really be there.

9ers vs Card games usually have a good number of 9er fans in attendance.

Should be fun, if we can run the ball.

Not going to lie. I want him to succeed. But its probably going to be real rough for him this year. He should have had first team reps in the offseason. Instead, its starting now.....

I expect he'll look a lot better in the back half of the year as he plays more. But its going to get ugly.
And if Trent is out.... Fuuuuuuuu

Stay safe Trey

Cardinals might be the best team in the NFC right now. They have an obscene number of weapons, and accurate, fast QB, and a defense with elite play-makers. This will be tough.
Watching last drive again. Made some decent passes. Late with some throws. Got good yardage on runs. Give him simplify reads and he can do well. Excited to see him learn.

Yeah, Cards are good - Murray is the latest midget. It's going to be tough keeping up with them offensively, but it's going to be fun watching Trey play.

It might not go as you think. This is gonna be tough for a rookie.

I know it's going to be tough..... But we need to know how that heavy Franchise investment is going to handle it and how Kyle is going to unleash the plays he supposedly has come up with for Lance! I expect lumps.... But I'm also going he shows some promise...

I think Trey is going to impress - with Shanny designing the game plan with him in mind. It's going to be fun to watch - can't wait.

Anyway, the reason why that play shows you that Trey opens up the offense is because his presence together with the formation is exactly why that play was so wide open. Everyone assumes the 49ers are throwing the deep ins. And that, along with the threat of the QB run, is why the safety high tailed it to the middle of the field, instead of staying back to watch Deebo.

This is what you Mac Jones fans don't get. It's not because Trey is a more advanced passer. It's because Trey simply being on the field changes how the defense defends, and what they can get away with. The run game magically started being better when Trey came in, for example. Why?

Trey's clearly not ready yet, but even when he's not ready, the offense can tread water, because of these peripheral effects of him being on the field. Of course this is dependent on personnel we face. And Trey is going to s**t the bed at some point if Jimmy is out for an extended period of time. But there will be great moments, and some of them will be caused simply because Trey threatens defenses in ways Jimmy does not.

Yes... but alot of pundits this week were saying the Rams were going to blow the Cards out, because of previous games...stats.. bla bla... where as I felt, in our division anything can happen.... I just had feeling the Cards were going to pull it off.

So in the first half, we had a good hold on Wilson... kept him in the pocket early on and collapsed on him.... but we didn't do anything on offense to keep up the pressure... keep the momentum.... then the Seahawks and Russ got some momentum themselves.

Kyler is quicker and more slippery than Russ in 2021... but I think we'll have our chances to catch momentum... we'll just see if we can keep it.

The running attack actually looked fine for nearly the entirety of the game. Promising day from Sermon.

This is a decent tape of a 21 year old rookie playing 2nd half of a game where he was not expected to get more than a snap or two and didn't practice as a starter leading up to that game. He looked as good or better in the 4th quarter of this game than any of the other 1st round QBs did in week 1 and he was behind 2 TDs. Not to mention - all of those guys pretty much got most of the snaps in the training camp and were prepared to be starter in week 1.

Ppl really hating on the kid. Draft is over. It's ok if you were not 100% right or we didn't draft the QB you wanted - you don't have to give disingenuous takes on this kid. It's clear that he can play this game. He looked better in 4th quarter than he did in 3rd quarter and I think he'll get better than better after every 2-3 games under his belt.

...and I just don't see anything where I felt - he is more raw than other QBs drafted in 1st round. In fact - he showed nice poise on some of the runs. He also converted multiple 4th down on the last drive and made some nice throws. Yes, he also had some bad throws but that's to be expected.
The hope with Trey and what should be the expectation if he starts the rest of the way is he shows signs of growth and by the time we're at the end of the season he looks capable and functional out there.

He'll have some stinkers along the way and he won't be a polished or finished product even at the end of the season but his base level of play will be at higher level week 17 than it is currently.

Looking at the other rookie 1st round QBs today they all rebounded from a pretty rough week last week so I suspect we'll a similar trajectory from Lance in he'll struggle early but start putting the pieces together week to week until he starts to settle down and become more and more consistent.

Let me guess if #10 would have made that same bad throw you would be singing a different tune but sure I'm the ridiculous one.

Wrong guess again. Maybe stop guessing?

I was praising Jimmy during the 1st drive today and the 3rd drive - you can go see the live game thread. I am a 49ers fan. I have never hated on Jimmy when he plays well. If he throws INTs - and throws poor balls - then I do criticize him - and that too started this year bc I believe we have someone behind him that needs to get on the field imho.

I believe this team is gonna be in a better shape the faster they get Trey Lance ready. We don't have a Superbowl roster - it's pointless to try win a few games with Jimmy this year. We are better off using this year to develop Lance and go thru the growing pains as soon as possible.
