Nice, I only remember a couple games but liking what I saw. He is a good fit for this scheme.

If a future 6th (2022) = a current 7th (2021)
Then we got this depth player for free.

If you consider our future 2022 draft position in the 20's or later and the Jets 2021 as easily the 1st pick in the draft, we got a full round of value

"Willis, who's back down to 263 pounds, also seems ideally suited to line up on the edge on rushing downs in the Wide 9, which had been Ford's role. In fact, during the recent offseason, Willis traveled to Nashville and hired the father of Wide 9, Jim Washburn, as a pass-rush coach. Washburn, of course, is the mentor/father figure to 49ers defensive line coach Kris Kocurek.

Which is to say, it's not difficult to trace the steps that led Willis to Santa Clara.

Willis can't play this week because of COVID-19 protocols. But the trade is expected to become official on Monday, Willis is scheduled to go through his first practice Wednesday and he should be on the field against the Seahawks on Sunday. The 49ers might need him to help run down Wilson."

I remember him being really disruptive, the kind of player you only like on your team. Tipped passes, redirected receivers, getting in passing lanes, taking g out lead blockers etc.

Why didn't they shipped that 6th to the Giants for Markus Golden? He could've been a good replacement for Ford.
