I'm a big Mitch fan. Love the pick. But that was 4.6 by my count. I would imagine he will have better "oh s**t" moments for us to fawn over.

I don't care if it 4.6, 5.1 or 5.4...a ball kicked that high is going to cause some acute pucker spasms by the poor guys waiting for that sucker to come down. Now add where he runs laterally and then punches a grubber, aka a K.O type kick that runs along the ground and then bounces 10 feet over the PR's head. And that may be eclipsed even more by his knuckler, which looks like a wounded duck in a 40 knot wind ,dipping and diving and ....well, i wouldn't want to be trying to catch it. Plus note his placement in the corners and inside the 10. We have a gunner down there he can field it on the 1 or 2 yd line. I think punting game is going to be one helluva show this season.

Can he do these type of kicks?

I was looking for some Wishnowsky highlights to find these kicks that posters keep talking about but couldn't find any. Then I came across this video is Sam Koch( who I had never heard of), and it got me excited at what Mitch might bring.

It still pisses me off how the refs didn't call holding
Should we be concerned about blocked punts? Mitch had three punts blocked last year.

Were they his fault? Unless he dropped all three snaps that led to the block why in the s**t would anyone care about some college kid missing a blocking assignment that caused a blocked punt?

Yeah, as I recall (could be wrong) they're at least partially his fault. I think I remember reading he had an extra step in his windup he's trying to take out?

Why would anyone be concerned about something that happened 3 times.

Can't believe this guy fell to the fourth round.
As good as he is, I hope we don't see him much. Booming punts are awesome but I'd rather see a booming offense that scores so often that we don't need Mitch. Still nice to have him for when we get stopped deep in our own territory.

What if his punts lead to so many fumbles they are our best way to gain a quick 40 yards? Did you even think of that??

IS HE HALL OF FAME BOUND?
We have so many "weapons" on this team, the NRA is using our team as poster-children.

Of course but I'd still rather see the offense racking up yards and finishing with a TD. I don't care how good a punter he is you can't count on the punt returner fumbling so you can score. Those would be bonus possessions. Long drives keep our defense fresh for the 4th quarter when you really need the stops. I would hate to think that return fumbles would be our best way to gain 40 yards.
