With the way our front 7 has been playing this year. It's a MUST they keep both for next year or longer.

We'll have to see. A couple pressures, 1 FF and a penalty (off sides). Blew up a screen but don't think he was credited with the tackle. PFF grades penalties harsh so guessing something in the low 70's...high 60's? TBF, he was held quite a few times and probably played twice as many snaps as expected (23) because of Ford's injury. Officials were horrendous.

I love Damontre Moore and am so pleased no other team signed him. He will stay on the niners roster this season and I predict next season. It is already a done deal that AA will sign a big contract somewhere else and the Niners will pull a Patriots and get a 3rd round compensatory selection a year later. Lynch has said pretty much that is the case. Brenston Buckner will break the bank and they cannot pay top $$ to two DT's.

Hope Moore becomes a stud and Blair stays with us.

70.7 grade. Great start off the streets.

I remember he was regarded as a top 10 pick (one of the top edge rushers) at one point during the draft process back in 2013. Kid was a force at Texas A&M. He stunk up the combine with a poor 40 and bench like 19 reps. I also think he bombed all the interviews, which dropped him to the 3rd rd.

He's kinda been a bonehead everywhere he's went, talent has always been there. Maybe having a kid and being a little older can change that. Great depth, he's gonna have to take advantage of this situation (with the talent all around him), not sure he's gonna get a better chance than this.

For sure. This is why you don't give up on young players like Witherspoon and even Pettis. Everyone grows up at different rates.

And right now, this is the perfect time to get a player like Moore BECAUSE of all the trials and tribulations he's been through...he's extra motivated and obviously, humble as hell.

Now the talent has a chance to meet maturity to meet will to meet the perfect environment around him. That's when players take off.

I don't know what his ceiling is but I have no doubt he's going to play his role well and give you 110% every down.

Definitely. I have game pass and rewatched his snaps to see how he did.

Total: 23 snaps

After we got within 16-7, the Cards were driving and just got a big 3rd down pass interference on Sherman. On his first full series, playing RDE. pushes the TE back 3 yards and forces Kirk to try and run outside with Moore in pursuit...1/2 yard gain. Next play, from RDE, blows up field beating the TE to the spot and forces Murray to pull it down, step up and Ford cleans up on the sack. LDE, dips under the T puts pressure on Murray who slides left, completes a pass way short of the sticks = momentum stopped. Punt from the 40.

Had AZ grabbed back the momentum there with any points, who knows.

Next series, they tried a cut block and he defeated it, read the screen and made three tackle (great play). 2 yard gain. That lead to a 43 yard FG.

Next series he was held twice rushing in plain sight...which probably lead to trying to beat the snap for a penalty on three next play.

Observation: even if he's cut or rushes up field, he instantly hustles back and blasts the pass catcher or RB. Seeing that now, it's not surprising he forced that fumble at the end. The flip side of this is AA who half jogs or stands there (literally) watching the tackle.

Good stuff. We'll need more of that.
