Moore is about to dominate the bench!

FTFY.

You just sit there in your wrongness and like it.

I hope to be sitting in my own pile of wrongness about this guy too... along with 31 other teams.

Blair played 37% of the snaps.

Daniel Brunskill and Damontre Moore were both really good players. I went to a lot of the games here. Brunskill played here at Valley Center High School (San Diego area), then San Diego State Aztecs, also San Diego Fleet of the AAF. He was always known as just the way he plays. A really good pass blocker who has good technique and slides his feet and can mirror and adjust. He is not a bulldozer run blocker though. He is a much better pass protector. But he is darn good at that IMO. Moore is a good pass rusher who can get to the QB with technique and tenacity and high motor. He just doesn't test out well. He is not a combine star type of guy. Both are good players though.

That and a dime will get you a cup of coffee in these league. How many guys have we seen over the past several years who tore it up during pre-season, got cut or traded at the end of camp and promptly disappeared from the NFL radar. The RB, Winston, who went to Cleveland. The LB that we traded to Indianapolis, that ER, Rush I think his name was, who ended God knows where. He played well during pre-season and clearly got caught up in a numbers game here but it is probably telling that no other team has signed him in the interim. I mean its not like there is an abundance of good edge rushers sitting around looking for work and yet he wasn't even apparently considered to be an adequate rotational guy by the 32 other teams that had a chance to sign him. I wish him the best and maybe being lined up with all of the guys we have up front will help him elevate his game. We'll just have to wait and see I guess. I think that an even bigger loss than Blair during the Seattle game was Jones, who was really tearing it up. Luckily he looks like he will only be out a short period of time. Hopefully we will get ho back in time for that stretch of games after the Cardinals.

Fair point but you're completely missing the other half of that coin....LONG line of UDFA's, players never getting invited to the combine like Poona Ford and the myriad of top 4 round misses and the circumstances around a player getting cut (not eligible for the PS, broken hand, deep unit, $, improper scheme fit, poor personnel eye, favoritism, timing of the cut, player maturity/growth, age, study habits, IQ, etc...and a million other circumstances).

Thinking 32 personnel departments have it locked it is silly. I think Oscar summed it up perfectly here:

How many fans in here have had far better shadow drafts and off season plans than our very own personnel staff? When you dive into how most scouts and pro personnel and GM's even get their jobs in the first place, it's no wonder they don't do any better than the average fans with far more resources. Too many variables.

That said, Moore should be an excellent W9 ER in rotation hopefully replacing Blairs 37% snaps and production...if not more.

You guys brought back in DL Damontre Moore, obviously in the wake of DL Ronald Blair III ACL injury. What does Damontre kind of bring to the table considering just how deep this defensive line is? How does he kind of fit your scheme?

"Damontre, you can never have enough pass rushers. Damontre did a fantastic job and he was a victim of numbers. I think if he was on any other roster in football, he would have made their team. It was a numbers deal and if it's a 53-man roster, he was 54. Unfortunately, he doesn't have practice squad eligibility. He should have been on someone's roster. Selfishly, their loss in my mind. Damontre will come in, he'll help us out. You lose a lot with Ronnie because of his mental makeup and all the things that he brings, but Damontre displayed a great amount of tenacity. The man has been through the ringer. He was a third-round draft pick, I believe. He's been cut and he's felt that and he's been out of the league, so he's got a different why. So, his drive is going to push him to success. I don't think he's going to fail, personally. We're pumped to have him."
yea but can he catch a ball?

Yes, now that he has his cast off. He is also an excellent pass protector too.
