because he needs explosion around the edge and Deebo is the best at doing that with Mitchell hobbled and Mostert out for the season.
I'm really getting concerned about how Deebo is being used. I think Shanny is using him as a RB way too much. Yeah, use him as a RB in spots to change things up and put the defense on it's heels. But using him more as a runner than a WR is gonna hurt him in the stats, and in his health.

Then bring in a RB who can. We have JaMycal Hasty and Jeff Wilson Jr. who were healthy and played. Shanny cannot be running his top WR 8 times in a game after he's coming off a groin injury. That is inexcusable. If aMycal Hasty and Jeff Wilson Jr. cannot get around the edge then Shanny needs to bring in RB's who can, and allow Deebo to be - oh, I don't know - a WR

I think just having him on the field as a threat to be accounted for was the game plan.

seemed like they were taking it easy on touches with him.

I don't think so. Coming off a groin injury yet Shanny rushed him 8 times for 37 yards, one for a 27 yard TD run. On a couple plays Shanny ran him directly up the middle as a RB, not even disguising it, when you have JaMycal Hasty and Jeff Wilson Jr. available. I'm sorry, that's not good, and unnecessary. I get it, Deebo is a versatile offensive weapon. But he's a WR, not a RB. So if we have RB's on the roster that cannot get the yards that our top WR can get from the backfield then shame on Shanny.

Gonna cost him money when he is not a leading receiver or rusher but I am more concerned with his health.

My concern too, but kyle only ran him once between the tackles (no gain, but didn't get hurt either). Lined up at RB a number of times but as a receiver, not RB. Basically we need him way more as a receiver than a RB. If he plays RB then we get him for maybe 2 more games. At WR, we get him for remainder of season. Really, i think he was out there to draw D off, allowing kittle and Aiyuk more chance of getting passes.

Decr # of targets was intentional, IMO. As for RB, we got nowhere wth Wilson….until passing game opened up the D and once that happened , Wilson got some nice runs for big yardage…8, 9, 10 yds. When D was looking for run…Wilson got stoned.

As for Deebo, he was a decoy much of game, and had selected targets. But he had 3 catches with 2 guys right there going for ball and i swear that he has the fastest hands I have ever seen. 3 times the ball was right there, 6 hands grabbing for ball in a tight , tight window, and each time deebo comes away with it.

I think coach kyle did a good job of protecting him, and stayed away from the running up the gut. Wilson came thru, but only once loosened up the D with our passing game. Then Wilson got his yardage. As for Deebo lining up and carrying the ball 20-25 times, i hope we never see that again, and i was heartened by how kyle used him.

He definitely ran him more than once at RB from the backfield up the middle. I remember one he ran no gain, on another he gut 5 or 6 yards that was up the guy, and I believe another he got only a few yards, all up the middle. He ran 8 times for 37 yards, one was the 27 yard TD. I do agree that he was out there as more as a decoy, but I that was too much. Thank god he didn't run him 20 times. He should have used him more as a WR.

I doubt very seriously that it'll cost him money. I can't see Paraag Marathe pulling that on Deebo. He's one of the leagues top 3 or 5 WR's. No way he won't be paid like it.
Mad respect. It was super risky playing him esp. 8 snaps as a RB but he made it and contributed just enough as a RB/WR/Decoy

Deebo is back, love the trio of him, Aiyuk & the best TE in the game, Kittle, all 3 scored, Deebo now has 6 rush TDS & 5 receiving TDs.

''Some key stats.

Deebo, 57 catches, 1028 yards, 5 TDs, 33 rushes, 240 yards, 6 TDs
Aiyuk, 41 catches, 549 yards, 4 TDs
Kittle, 57 catches, 757 yards, 6 TDs (and he missed 3 games, & can still get to 1k yards, just needs 243 yards with 4 games left, we could have 2 players with 1k receiving yards, & 5 or more TDs)

''of course Bosa is a stud, 42 tackles, 14 sacks, 18 TFL, 3 forced fumbles, in 13 games, he really is a generational talent, I think he ends up having a better career than Joey does.

I think you are trying to give me one of those erections that last for more than eight hours and it's working

Woah, TMI, lol

Yep, I have him pegged at the $18m a yr range, right behind Hopkins(no one will get that any tim soon imo), Julio(not worth $20m a yr imo), Amari Cooper, Michael Thomas & Keenan Allen, and right with Tyreek Hill & Kenny Golladay both at $18m

Yikes! At least it isn't 24 million, like I think you said a couple of weeks ago.
Instead of using Deebo as a RB and wear him out, why not use him like Cooper Kupp.
