jesus f**king christ the xenophobia in this country knows no bounds.

Lighten up. It's a question about a marketing decision.

the guy just had multiple top 5 hits in the US. music is a universal language. there's a very specific portion of the US citizenry making this same ENGLISH IN AMERICA!!!!! argument. it's weak but says a lot.
I think it would be stupid to have an all English set in Mexico or Yemen for a big event. It seems like common sense, but honestly I couldn't care less. I have never even heard a song by this dude that I know of and would prefer something old school rather than pop but whatever, getting worked up about something so miniscule seems like a waste of time. I usually don't even watch them anyways.

OK, thanks for the background. As I said, I had no idea who he was. (All the Spanish I learned in school is now long gone. )

I don't care to turn this into an argument. I would assume the NFL has done some research as to the musical taste of those attending in person and watching on TV. It just seemed odd to me that they would bring in a non-English speaking entertainer for an event in the US.

I guess the ratings will speak for themselves come February.

This will be his 2nd SB halftime show. He was one of the artist for the Niners vs Chiefs 2020

Figures I wouldn't know that. The last halftime show I watched was Prince.
The NFL only cares about expanding its audience ($$$). They don't care one way or the other about its current fan base that actually buy tickets, merch, etc..

Who will be able to sleep at night over this decision? It sucks, but we'll win, and God will bless us, and we'll stand and be proud of ourselves at the end of the day, and the NFL and bad bunny won't be able to sleep at night because they don't know what they believe, and they're so weak, and it'll be fixed.

Btw what's the over/under of the number of illegals rounded up by ICE at the SB?

these are the snowflakes melting

This is an aside, but not being able to speak English in America will put a lower ceiling on your opportunities, particularly in the world of economics and finance. English is the language of that world. Many foreign countries begin teaching English in the fourth grade.

My wife and I often travel into national parks and see many seasonal employees, usually in their early 20s, from other countries who speak English very well having learned it in their schools. Speaking English is a requirement for employment.

What does this have to do with the Superbowl?
Never cared for the halftime show. Halftime is for more food, beer, and stepping outside for some air/shoot the s**t with your friends.

Specifically, for the SB, it's become the part of the broadcast that is there to entertain the non-football fans that are watching due to it being a cultural event more than a sporting event.

Which is totally fine by me. I consider it a fair tradeoff.
