I felt the same way as those I have debated with in this thread because the media and stats and the like had always convinced me that systemic racism is the truth. Larry Elder was the 1st of many whom I familiarized myself with and who argued against that belief and I initially lent his argument more weight because who would know better than a black man who didn't grow up with any particular advantaged over anyone else? He started me on my road to enlightenment and factual evidence, eschewing emotion, and in the end I found that there is more evidence that when analyzed without bias, proves the narrative of systemic racism is a lie than there is to argue the opposite.

Is our country free of racism? Hell no it isn't and it never will be. Black people are racists toward other races, white people are, Asian people are, Spanish people are. Is it systemic and 1 race the target? I just don't agree and imo there is evidence to support that opinion and really little to support the opposite when removing all those "facts and stats" that are fluff intended to cause emotion than they are intended to convey factual info.

Are you trying to make a point in regard to the ratio of contact and police killings ?

I see where yer headed. I had thought so maybe at one point as well, but the unwarranted contacts would have to be astronomical when looking at the content of the contacts and that's even accounting for some error of reporting/recording. Not only that, but if a cop is harassing for "being black" they are unlikely to report it unless they have to document the committing of a crime, so the type of interaction you are describing unlikely to affect the stats and percentages we are discussing.

I don't remember seeing any news stories of a police-involved shooting when there wasn't some additional circumstance involved. No drugs, no accusation of having committed a crime, no weapon just some normal joe schmo driving or walking and being shot? I'd expect that kind of story would headline in todays political climate. I can't remember one instance of the like being reported. I do remember one such incident reported with a white female being killed after calling the cops for help. I am sure that was also racially motivated though.....(sarcasm).

So slaves on a slaveship calling their white captors "crackers" is racist? Lol no. And don't give me the dictionary definition because that's not the issue. The issue is systemic racism, and no - black people cannot be racist in that context because they don't have the power to be. Power is the key. The white power structure has power, and thus can exert systemic racism. Trying to claim that "black people can be racist" given the context I just described is ridiculous.
