Yeah they inherited a bag of nothing and built it into a contender. Bunch of clowns.

Three 10+ loss seasons in four years. Impressive contender.

Lol ferreals. One fluke season and back to losing.

Take away 2017, and this team has been a good team, injuries have killed them, yet they've put up great numbers, Saleh had a top 10 defense in 2019 & 2020, and that was without Bosa and Dee in 2020. And yes they BUILT this roster, they didn't inherit the roster that Harbaugh did, Harbs had the likes of Vernon, Gore, Willis, Bowman, J.Smith, Staley, Iupati, A.Davis, Whitner, Delanie, Ian Williams, Ginn, etc... What did Shanny get? Buckner, Armstead, Ward, Tartt but who else? They(Kyle/John) have added guys like Kittle, Bosa, Warner, Trent, Juice, Deebo, Aiyuk, Kinlaw, Greenlaw, DJ Jones, Verrett, Tomlinson, McGlinchey, found gems as UDFAs like Breida, Bourne, Wilson. Who did they have from the previous regime? Joshua Garnett, Vance McDonald(who got an extension in 2016 when everyone knew Baalke was gone, yet was allowed to extend him), Aaron Lynch, Eli Harold, Tank Carradine, all busts, not to mention the injured players Baalke drafted, Brandon Thomas, Marcus Lattimore, Carradine, etc.... Yes Kyle/John drafted Street, that was a mistake, other than that, they haven't made terrible picks outside of Thomas & Foster(not really on them when Foster couldn't stay out of trouble & Saban lied to us).

Nice. I think MM will have a bounce back year.

We should all pray he does

Good for MM, hoping for a breakout year, and 2020 was a fluke/bad season, McGlinchey, if adds weight, can be a force.

The talent on this roster is undeniable

MM is the best RT in the NFC west. Considering it's the best division in football I'd say this was the correct decision

That's not saying much. Definitely nothing to brag about. He was beyond awful last year.

No, he was not awful. On a time that puts a lot of pressure on tackles for an outside running game, Mc was one of the very best run blockers in the league. He had a down year in pass protection but he also had to guess where an inexperienced QB was going to be much of the time.

Must have watched a different RT routinely get turned into a revolving door last year. My mistake.

No dj43 summed it up pretty good. Just watching a few Cohn videos doesn't come close to painting an entire picture .
Hes one of the big reasons our run game is able to churn out RB's that produce. He needs to do better at pass pro, I think we can all agree with that. If he DOES improve pass pro to even just average he'd be a top 5 RT in the league. His run blocking is top 3 in the league.

His 5th year option is for $11M, I think. No brainer. Or would you rather pay him upper echelon RT money after the season, remember the 49ers have no 1st rounder next year to replace him.

$10.88M to be exact. I agree with walker807, if he improves his pass blocking, he's a top 5 RT IMO, hoping Foerster can help him.

This right here. Plus, had 3rd & 4th string Centers making calls and trying to keep the OL in sync (we saw the results). McGlinchey's pass pro has to improve, no doubt about it, but he remains one of the game's best blocking OTs.

Based off of what evidence? He's been terrible at PP since day 1.

Exercising his 5th... hopefully he exercises his muscles. Eat a damn steak while he's at it too.
