Pair a DC that got fired from Oakland only to see their defense improve without him to go along with this:

The Georgia offense plummeted in its one year under Schottenheimer. The offense fell from eighth in scoring offense in Mike Bobo's final year to 85th under Schottenheimer. Georgia also went from 30th in total offense to 83rd under Schottenheimer.
It's also worth noting that Schottenheimer has never had a top 10 offense in the NFL, as his offenses have struggled in his stops as an offensive coordinator with the New York Jets (2006-11) and the then-St. Louis Rams (2012-14). Schottenheimer will get to coach Russell Wilson, who is undoubtedly the best quarterback he's had.
Kirby Smart replaced Schottenheimer with Jim Chaney. After a rocky first season, the Georgia offense became one of the best in the country, particularly on the ground. The Bulldogs finished ninth in the country in rushing offense this season. Georgia finished with a 13-2 record, losing to Alabama in overtime in the national championship game.

I wonder who Kyle has in mind to replace him. It's a pretty good idea to have a defensive minded guy like that as the Asst. HC. to oversee the defense to free Shanny up of other coaching duties so he can concentrate on a killer offense.

If that was going to be his role, I'm glad he left. He's terrible at running a defense. He is a position coach. Nothing more.

It's even better that he went to Seattle. Their defense just got a whole lot weaker.
What I don't understand is why the Seahawks would now hire him if the job was available all along. Looks like a desperate move on their part.
Yawn..what is Gary Plummer up to these days?

I foresee a bigger role for Demeco Ryans.

Yeah, give him the ILB coaching job, I'm not sure about the Asst. HC defense half of it though, I'm not sure he has the experience for that.

Again how about we make a role for Kris Richard??

Advisement or position?

He knows this defense, was DC for 3 yrs in Seattle and DB coach before. If they can make a role for Norton why not him?

I'd be cool with that, but I don't think the type of position we would offer is the type of job he's looking for. I think he will insist on a DC spot since a HC spot doesn't look like it will happen this year.

Yeah, I'd be good with him as a DB coach; however, he may get targeted for DC by the new incoming coaching staffs.

If we had the previous two coaching staff, I'd be concerned. But with Shanny and Lynch, not worried, trust they'll find someone else just as good.
Seattle can have him. With him, their new OC and Solari as OL coach, I'm really underwhelmed by these hires. Don't see how they will be better next year.
What a loser. I always hated this guy. First for breaking bys leg now for using us as a stepping stone. Good riddance you dbag. Don't let the door break your shin in half on the way out
Do we get a comp pick? <JK>
Hire Nolan!!
Oh it's on now. f**ken SEA gonna try to steal all of our s**t.
