Absolutely no point of signing him for only 7 more games before he retires. Its not like we're contending for a playoff spot.

Actually don't we get 1st dibs since Cle. did not play last week and the 9ers have more losses?

Baalke would have signed him to a multi year deal.

Maybe he was trying to get cut in GB????
Martellus Bennett, who arrived in NE with a torn rotator cuff, passed his physical and was at practice. He didn't practice for 2 weeks in GB https://t.co/XMtj3Z3J2R

Glad the 49ers didn't go anywhere near this drama queen. He wanted surgery while with the Packers and blamed the doctor for pressuring him to play and claims he wouldn't feel safe playing without the surgery. Now he's out there running around in New England while a whole host of Packers, current and former have stood up for the team doctor, saying that if anything, he was very conservative when it came to injuries and protecting the health of players.

Its not even that he refused to play for Green Bay while he has no problem playing for the Patriots. I wouldn't have any issue if he had just said "I didn't feel like spending the remainder of my career lunging for passes from Hundley." Would have been par for the course from him.
However this tool went and threw their team doctor under the bus, took a huge heaping dump on a guy who because of medical privacy laws, cannot defend himself from the accusations, all so he could deflect the blame and make himself the victim.

I feel you. Maybe GB refused to trade or release him so then he felt forced to do what he did.

GB should sue him so they don't have to pay him a dime, and to clear the doctor's name. He's faking injuries. The NFL should also investigate him, even if he retires, officially ban his ass. Faking injuries is the most taboo thing you can within the confines of the game of football.
The Bennett bros starting to look like drama queens.
