Funny when the only thing you do in here is try to prove people wrong, screen grab a comment from months ago and pretend that makes you better or something. Social media is a funny thing. Forget about having normal conversations, even having healthy debates about anything….it's all about trying finding gotcha moments, exaggerating, and acting like you have any f**king clue as to how someone feels about a player or topic.

yeah every comment I've ever wrote about Jimmy is hate lol giving me a f**king break. Years worth of posts in this thread that aren't criticisms or "hate" but none of that matters because I wanted to move off him this past off season. Yeah look at this one comment that proves it lol. What pathetic poster and way to go about it in here

I also love how when situations change, which subsequently make your opinions change, people try to use that as a gotcha moment and claim goalposts have been moved.

I didnt want Jimmy as a backup in the slightest bit because I never in a million years anticipated he would be ok taking an EIGHTEEN MILLION DOLLAR PAYCUT. And since I am cool with him being the backup at $6.5M, I moved the goalposts.

It was pretty obvious scenario a while ago when nobody was going to trade for him with a 25 mill contract that he was going to take a one year small prove it deal somewhere.

There isnt a 49er fan in the world that believed he would take a six million dollar deal to return to the 49ers. Any claim otherwise is disingenuous.

Lol to think Jimmy was going to get released and get a huge deal lol. It was obvious that he was going to sign a small deal somewhere. 49ers were always a possibility, albeit or small you guys just refused to listen to people smarter than you.

People smarter than me....like Kyle Shanahan? Well he said this today:

"We never ever thought this could happen.....Nobody in the league believed this was the outcome that would be, but it ended up that way and we feel fortunate it did."

But I refused to listen to people smarter than me huh?

We watched Deebo take the team on his back this yr not Jimmy who yet again couldn't play a full season of football and is STILL f**king this team because he can't stay healthy.

He's a nice dude and good locker room guy. He isn't the worst starting QB in the league, but clearly replaceable…the league has spoken about his worth. Anyone trying to create a different narrative is either being a massive homer or is just dumb at this point.

Yet, we cant replace him.

you can replace him with freaking Mishew who's got better stats then Jimmy on way worse teams.

Did you notice the part where Shanny leaves open the door for his return. I'm not sure why this is so difficult for you guys. Lynch has said it many times and so has Shanny.

"Shanahan said they haven't made a call on what it'll look like if both are on the roster."

Why not? What does he mean by this? Be honest. It's pretty straight forward dude. You guys are the ones changing narratives. You really are.

I think they're trying to keep his trade value up.

Stop with logic and put your tin foil hat back on.
.

oh and I could provide hundreds.....

Huh?

Read the tweet...

Jimmy returning was a possibility even back in March. He was never ruled out. Him retuning on a new contract was always a possibility if people actually listened.

Listen, Ribs....he literally just had multiple quotes today that completely contradict that. Believe what you choose to. No one believed he was going to take an $18M paycut. No one.

See below. Again.

I'm aware of his contract. The floor is what is the only thing that is guaranteed, as you know. But that isnt really incredibly relevant to what I was saying....that no one believed Jimmy was going to be back. Kyle admitted this today.

facts are facts, if you want to take it as a negative than thats on you

"Jimmy tucked his tail" is a "fact?"
We have 2 of the 32 is what they are saying the word on the street

An appropriate spot. Above the likes of say, Zach Wilson from the Jets.

Would the Jets actually prefer to start Jimmy over Wilson though? Absolutely not.

JG would have been great insurance if Wilson bombs like he did last year he stunk.. now their insurance is Flacco they made their bed.. All Brake No Gas as they say..

No one was also going to sign an often injured Jimmy at 25 million for one year. The only solution was he was going to get released then sign a prove it deal somewhere. That somewhere was always a possibility here. Plain and simple. This was pushed for months. Again.. his contract and injury history made him untradable. You all can say his injury was an excuse but between his injury and 25 million he was more than likely not going anywhere until we released him. Even then, when released he was going to sign a prove it deal and try to get paid. During this whole scenario, the door was always open for him to stay here 25 mill or 6 mill. Always. It didn't seem likely, as Shanny pointed out, he didn't think it would come to this but it did.

I'm sorry, did I say they would? I agree he wasnt going to sign a $25M deal. But again, I (as well as pretty much everyone else) wouldnt have guessed he would sign one for $6.5M either. Which was my entire point to you. You bringing up an old post you made about Kyle's vague wording about the possibility of his return 5 months ago doesnt change that.

The last bold is a no s**t sherlock type statement. He said "we NEVER expected this." Thats a lot more definitive than you are trying to make it sound.

My argument is centered around Jimmy's value as a starter, and provided A reason for why his market value is seemingly lower than his current playing ability in relation to his peers.

Obviously Jimmy is great insurance, certainly better than Bert at this point in his career. That's why he's valuable to us.

I didn't think they expected the QB market to be this soft however it happens when you have legends playing to 45 and a huge rookie crop last year every team wanting to give those guys a fair shake. This is how HOF Ryan goes for a 3rd and Baker goes for a conditional 2055 11th round selection. Not just us or JG.

Yep.
If you're the Browns, wouldn't you badly want Jimmy on that contract?

They could trade a pick for him, start him games 1-11, go 11-0 and only owe him $10.85M.

I thought the contract would simply be $500K per start. $350K per start + win is extremely cheap.

This is a VERY tradable contract. I really don't get why people aren't talking about this angle more.

That is a rather odd spin considering what has been said by multiple sources.

I think that since Jimmy still hasn't been given a playbook, Shanny and Lynch know this is a VERY tradable contract...
