We assume because he's a "pocket passer" that he's intelligent and can read defenses, but he's shown just the opposite. How many games last year did he literally throw the ball up for grabs. You guys talk about his numbers from last year as if they were amazing, they weren't. 27 TDs vs 13 ints is not great, especially when he was surrounded by the best running attack in the NFL, explosive weapons, the best tight end and a play caller who could make anyone successful.

Even Kyle doesn't trust Jimmy. That's why he threw the ball 9 times against the Vikings and it's why he was so scared to call an aggressive game in the super bowl.

Jimmy's "talent" is overrated. He's a one read quarterback with zero pocket presence and mobility, above average arm talent who breaks down mentally when things get tough. Jimmy is basically a slightly lesser version than Andy Dalton.

We need to move on before we waste another could-have-been dynasty.

One example of him going thru his progressions, nice. But that's not typical of him.

That's because typically we don't have the pass protection allowing for that many progression checks.

When he does have time, he holds too long, doesn't move in the pocket, and folds and takes a sack or closes his eyes and throws something up. He can't extend... AT ALL.

You can't just type words and make them true 🤣🤣🤣
I wouldn't want Stafford now. If he was 5 years younger I would but at this stage of his career I don't see it as an upgrade. If the Niners decide that they want to make a change sometime down the road I hope they either draft a QB or trade for a young guy that's sitting behind a vet so they can get maximum years out of him. Jackson is considered a threat only because of his running. I don't think he's near good enough as a passer to be a top QB in the NFL. Murray can run almost as well and is a much better passer.

This is a b******t and stupid narrative and you should feel bad for saying it. He has zero coverage reading issues and it shows that you are lazy or dont know a lot about the game to imply it. The guy isnt without faults but he processes data and goes through reads as fast as anyone, it is one of his strengths. I saw you in the game day thread trolling the s**t out of people and generally trying to live up to your idiotic screen name...not impressed.

Gross I never wanted Lamar. Baltimore can't play from behind. Lamar is a great athlete not a great QB IMO.

Why people can't stand Lamar Jackson, I'll never know. 36 tds vs 6 ints. He's ahead of Jimmy as a player, an athlete and a quarterback. He was an excellent draft pick, a deserved MVP. Seems like a good dude, hard worker. There's only one reason I can think of...

Our pass pro is fine. It just looks bad when you have a QB that sacks himself as much as Jimmy does.

I actually gave Jimmy credit during that game, saying that he showed some heart and played well.

But that doesn't change his trend of subverting expectations and folding when there's pressure around him. He looks like a bottom tier qb when we need him most, worse even, he looks scared. I don't want that in a quarterback.

But you'd take Lamar 🤣🤣. Does he come with Greg Roman as well? Hahahaha Hot Takes over here!!!

Jitterin' Jimmy... eyes wide shut when we needed him most. He's a 28 year old multi-millionaire, he will be fine. Unfortunately, he was a big reason we didn't win a super bowl. He's average at best and isn't reliable when you need him. And in this day and age, you need a quarterback who can go out there and win you big games on his own. He can't, let's move on and find someone who can.

Obviously, Jimmy is a smaller sample size and Stafford plays for the lions.

The eyeball test tells me Stafford has a bigger arm and Jimmy is more accurate and generally comes through in the clutch(take out the SB). Jimmy also comes across as a natural leader who guys ride or die for and I don't see or hear that about Stafford. I am taking Jimmy.

Dude I don't give a crap about stats, put Stafford in Kyle's scheme not some b******t matt Patricia offense or all the all trash offensives he's had throughout his career and let's compare.

Clutch? Stafford is 5th overall (since 1960) in 4th QR comebacks.

Look I like Jimmy, I'm not gonna a homer about it though.

Lol I am not being a homer. If you didn't give a crap about stats why would you immediately point out a statistic to convey your point? Look, I like Stafford, but I am not taking him over Jimmy G for this team in this offense and I do not assume that if we had Stafford last year we would have a better chance to win the super bowl as you so eloquently pointed out.

I didn't call you a homer, I said I'm not gonna be one...imo Jimmy is who he is. He's a system QB with really no elite traits to his game.

Also I'm rebutting your comment which is all about stats. You seem to like stats to prove a point and I gave you on showing you Stafford is actually pretty clutch.

Stafford is just a better QB who happens to have spent his whole career in a wasteland organization. His talent has wasted away.

I'm gonna continue to root for Jimmy as long as he's a Niner. Doesn't mean I can't be objective in regards to what he is as a QB.

I could make a highlight reel of Brandon Lloyd and tell you he's an elite receiver, that wouldn't change the fact that he's not. Nice try, though.

Oh no the national media didn't blow our QB at every chance they had so he sucks?

Tear the ACL for Mahomes, Wilson, Lamar or any other elite QB and see how great they look next season.

Guess what, very doubtful any of them look as great as they do now. Why doesn't that apply for a lesser QB like Jimmy?

There is something said about guys who just win. Tim Tebow did it but his passing was just awful. Tom Brady did it early in his career and I remember the conversations where people didn't think highly of him and said he was a game manager who was carried by Belichick and that defense and running game(sound familiar?)

Look at Brady's post ACL year.

4806 yards 50 TD 8 INT year prior to ACL tear

4398 yards 28 TD 13 INT year after ACL tear

But because Jimmy started the season rough vs Arizona missing his top 2 WRs and we still only lost by 4 points vs a team that had a blocked punt against us deep in our territory, got a bunch of BS flags to keep their drives going, he sucks and should be replaced?

Hell if the defense stops Arizona in the 4th quarter Jimmy has another GWD, 4th QTR comeback in the books.

Fans need to understand that you can win with guys who aren't flashy. Yeah it's awesome when you have the guy you can safely say is the best in the game and it lets you talk all sorts of smack vs other fanbases but Garoppolo doesn't have to be an elite QB for us to win games or SBs.
